I LOVE that term. You can use it in the politest of company and not be vilified.

But seriously, I don't see whores or prostitutes and none of the classy women who post on this board fall under either of those labels.  

On Craig's List they often insult each other like this but the bottom line is whether you pay for it or get paid for it, everyone is going to feel ashamed when you go negative.  No one appreciates our ladies more than I do.  I love this hobby.

Any man who thinks an escort cannot be every inch the lady that his wife is deserves neither the devotion of his lady wife, nor the professionalism of a high class escort. In my (graciously humble) opinion of course.

I'm an old-fashioned guy : I still hold out for slattern, strumpet, tart, jazebel, woman of easy virtue and other Victorian euphemisms.

Like a lot of slang terms, "ho" just came from people who were too lazy to enunciate the word "whore."  Just like "dunno" for "don't know", "wanna" for "want to", "a'ight" for "all right" or "cus" for "because".  In fact, this is where the term "slur" came from - insulting terms derived from people who slurred their speech.  Think of your racial slurs - spic for Hispanic, nigger for Negro, chink for Chinese.  Because they are considered "lower class," most people find the slang terms more vulgar and derogatory.  But if you're going to use either of these terms on a woman, it doesn't really matter.  They would be equally offensive.

refer to themselves as whores. I don't read it as self-depracating humor either. Whether the terms signifies a thing, it's in the eye/heart of the user. Whore signifies one thing to person x and another to person y. It's when any so-called derogatory term is used in the spirit of hate or lack of respect for the person is where we all can be indignant. Thanks to all who lent their opinion.

Of the 25 posts above mine, 17 chose to totally ignore your queery or they stated their distaste for it (hence they thought you were an idiot).  Not a single one really chose to seriously answer your question, so we didn't have a divergence of opinions on your question.  A divergence onto other subjects?  Yes.  But not of the question the way it was posed.  As for me adding to the discussion, I contributed the most direct, strongest opinion of all.  No one but you seemed to disagree with it.
