This is really a double edged sword. I can appreciate why the ladies need the information for safety and security reasons and I can also understand the hesitation that we guys have in providing "alot" of information up front. Just as you don't know us, we don't know you either and I for one always have to think hard about just how much information I am willing to share in initial contacts. I agree with some of the other posts here in guessing that your experience is more of the type I described above as contrasted with a respect or control issue. The good news is that despite this reality, it usually works out OK for both parties in the end.
