TER General Board

Credit for Reviews of CraigsList Girls

I was just wondering how everyone felt about CL reviewers getting VIP credit for their reviews.  It seems that just about all the providers on CL are rip-offs and most of the reviews reflect that.  Those that don't are usually fake.  So are we really learning anything new from the reviews?  Also, most of the ads are very short term so you get a lot of bad website links and can't go back to see who the review was written about.  I understand that MP reviews are not given credits because they usually don't advertise on the internet.  Why should CL reviews?  Is a two-day CL ad really considered advertising?  Besides it isn't really an ad that they paid for.  It's just a post on a board.  Is a provider post on a TER board announcing her visit to a city considered an internet ad?

Do you see the wonderful gals that you so much adore advertise here? I don't think so...... Most, but not all SP. that have a somewhat good reputation will stay away from CL lisings.
P.S.
Slam me if I'm wrong....

I agree. I am new and will still occasionally post on CL but hate to do so because it is a zoo. Anyone can post anything about anyone and some post their own reviews and others slam other providers. I look forward to the day I no longer need to go there.

Before I decide to see a CL provider I check to see if she has a eros or cityvibe ad. You can also do other investigations to make sure your stuff won't get stolen. If you find one that is good you can make a suggestion that she get a real website. Here is a free website for providers. I have been pretty lucky that things have worked out.

most likely, the CL PV is not up to standards to someone that is listed with TER or another board. Just my opinion.

Pros & cons of Craig’s List

1. ROBs, flakes, and lots of LE stings
2. Some diamonds in the rough needing only excavation
3. Alternate temporary advertising venue for otherwise established SPs to utilize if in a slump.
4. Demonstrable price differences if you're up for the risks.
5. No fiscal risk for a gal who wants to try the biz
6. Huge LE risk for a gal who is clueless.

The TER reviews of some of the MPs for OC help me. Even if their is quite a turn over in girls, their is a pattern that is helpful. Search TER using th the phone number, read the recent reviews, usually one or two will be current girls. The pattern of services and performance is consistent... almost like the girls form a given MP are following a script or pattern. Fing a patter or trend you like... for example, BBBJ for all of the reviews for a given MP... and the other things you want... and you stand a good chance of getting what you are looking for.

I'm not trying to discuss whether or not CraigsList should exist.  Everyone pretty much agrees that the quality of girls you see on CL is pretty low compared to the serious providers.  For the most part, CL girls are rip-offs, flakes, inexperienced or just plain poor performers.  Occasionally you will find a girl that is legit and just needs time and experience.  And when she does, she will probably stop advertising on CL.  But everyone already knows what they are getting.  I don't go to McDonald's and expect prime rib.

What I was asking about was guys getting VIP membership credits for writing a review of a CL girl.  Do these reviewers deserve the same credit as someone who writes a review of a non-CL provider?  If the guy writes a good review of a CL girl, everyone will say it's fake and not believe it.  If the guy writes a bad review, everyone will say, what did you expect?  On top of that the CL girls usually switch numbers, ads, pics and names and their old ads expire quickly.  So what good is a CL review?  To me, CL provider reviews should have the same treatment as the MP reviews.  You can write it and it will be posted and it may even be useful for a while, but you shouldn't get VIP credit for it.  Thoughts?

Not much you can do about sleazy girls, or bottom feeding hobbyists either ! AMPSand CL are like polyester.

CL ads expire quickly (short shelf life also sleazy), and must drive TER reviewers crazy.  I don't surf that low life sight!  Avoid!

TER is pretty much stuck having to allow their reviews to stand, to maintain credibility/integrity.

In defense of Craigslist

Ya know in smaller places, there’s at least one golf course, but there’s always a bigger and better one further away.

In Orange County, Craigs is our municipal golf course, yeah, we’d all like to play the big country club at TER but the green fees are generally higher and most of the holes are pretty far for a guy from the  way south part of the fare way.

If you do the right research; there are some pretty damn good holes on the OC Municipal.

However I do agree that it’s a pretty shabby place and the good chicks should find a better place to ply their trade. But on the other hand; there are several great gals that have very successful marketing strategies using CL to post only when they’re up for seeing guys and when you have an unexpected opportunity to go hobby, they’re good to have around.

Craigs List fills my fast-food hobby needs. If I suddenly get the urge, I can always find some hot litte CL girl that will see me immediately for very litte money. If this girl is reviewed on TER, I can confirm my suspicions right away. I just used TER this week to confirm that a visting CL girl was above board. TER eliminated the doubt and I had a great time.

Look, 9 out of 10 times my CL adventures are non-GFE quickies with hot new girls. All I want a review to do is to confirm that the girl is not LE and that she is not a flaming ripoff. TER does this for me. I'd hate to see this resource dry up.

Sometimes I need filet mignon and sometimes I need a hamburger. TER Craig's List reviews are a valuable addition for me.

So true about the last minute appointments. With normal providers you have to schedule at least 2-3 days in advance, sometimes a week. THen you don't always get the preferred time. Fun to go to a parking lot and make the call and they are ready in 1-2 hours.

Wow-  I know what you mean, and I understand the sentiment-  but gotta be one of the dumbest posts on this topic.

Uh-  dude- how can we tell about those occasional good to great CL providers?  ONLY REVIEWS TELL US THAT.

Did you recall that THIS IS A REVIEW SITE?  and in some markets the ads are up for months.

My two cents would be diametrically opposed to this post.

I agree. I have found some hot little spinners on CL and I have found some horrible girls on CL. It's a mix, but until someone TOFTT and sees her, then reviews her, the next guy won't know what they're getting into.

I find it curious, though, that some of the "nonpros" on that site really don't want to be reviewed. I wonder if it's their fear of LE, they like to fly below the radar or something... not sure exactly, but I get the request here and there. They say they only want to meet one or two people and they're happy with that.

It's all in the title of my post: CREDIT FOR REVIEWS of CraigsList Girls.  I know this is a review site!  I'm not saying to stop writing reviews.  I'm not saying CraigsList is good or bad.  I'm just saying CL reviews don't carry as much weight as reviews of other providers and shouldn't get VIP credit.  If it was the occasional good to great CL provider, she would probably get her own site or start advertising somewhere else quickly and get reviews linked to those ads.  I saw one reviewer that had 10 reviews, all of CL girls, all with expired ad links.  He claimed all the girls were rip-offs.  You'd think that after the 4th or 5th bad experience with a CL girl, he'd learn his lesson and stop seeing them.  Makes me wonder if he even saw all the girls or just knew that everyone expected a bad review of a CL girl anyway.  Do you think his 10 reviews are as useful as 10 of yours?  You have reviews from 2001 that are still helpful today.  His were useless a month later.  MP reviews are helpful longer than that and those reviews don't get VIP credits.

The point seems to be that you feel your reviews are more worthwhile than anyone who frequents CL because those ads are short term. What isn't so short term is phone numbers used, email addresses and such that stay in this system so the next time a girl advertises using them, if reviewed on here, her email or phone number will pop up. Who cares if the links to ads are down? Girls change their ads all the time as it is. They drop in and drop out of the biz, but if they use the same number or email address, then that info is still on this site and the members who've reviewed that girl have contributed a valuable service by reviewing her.

I see your point. I won't post a review if there is just a CL link. Only if there is a legit website or a legit ad site. I will encourage the provider to get a site so a review can be posted.

CLD, don't stop posting reviews for CL girls.  Giving credit for these reviews is a TER policy.  I was just thinking that if enough people agreed with me (which doesn't appear to be the case), TER would think about adjusting their review policy.  Getting reviews of good providers on CL can be helpful and when she does start advertising in a legit site, you can always update the link to your review to her new ad.

TER is good but it's not the only site. There's Eros, Cityvibe, Dave's List and many more.

Hugs,
Ciara

TER will only issue VIP credit if there's some sort of independently-verifiable contact information given for the provider, such as an email address or a phone number.  Sure, these things can be changed if a lady takes a notion to do so, but I've had some good luck in using them to establish some history for ladies who have changed their marketing strategies.  It's at least as reliable as checking up on ladies who travel around the country placing Eros ads in different cities.

I think we get some information from those reviews that establishes a baseline -- there are also providers who are semi-UTR who don't advertise anywhere else, for whatever reason.  It's doubtful that a lot of that information will prove useful to your random hobbyist... but then, writing a review of some porn star who charges $2000 for an hour isn't going to help very many hobbyists, either.  Personally, I've found three ladies advertising on CL that were worthwhile experiences (two of them were amazing!), with several others that weren't so good.  It takes effort to sift through the chaff, but once I've done so, I like to pass along the information to my fellow hobbyists so that they don't have to go through the same hassles I went through.  It's the judgment of the TER owners that doing so entitles me to 14 days of VIP credit if I write a review that meets their standards for information.

Finally, I'm given to understand that in some markets (like Portland and Seattle), CL is actually a valuable resource for finding ladies.  I've seen a review board that focused only on CL ads -- it was predominately aimed at the PNW area, but it had lots of traffic (although it does seem to be having some issues at the moment).  If it actually works in some areas, then it's probably a good idea for TER to give credit, and I don't see any way to just give VIP credit in some geographic areas.  The ads can certainly be pulled with short notice, but otherwise they can last up to 45 days in many markets, and for the people who mostly use the "New Reviews" searches here at TER, that's plenty long enough. (As one example, searching for "New Reviews" in Washington DC gives 179 different providers, and that's just in the last two weeks.)

I never claimed to have the correct answer.  That's the purpose of a discussion board.  Finally some posts with intelligent explanations of the opposing view.

I'm still not convinced, by the way, but you have given me new things to consider.
