Could someone explain what "waif" means?  and other acronyms similar to it.  Thanks for the help.

Especially if its capitalized that way ... waif usually refers to a thin (very) girl.  Technically someone homeless or abandoned, not well nourished.

I've never seen anything but white girls described as waif's although I realize that there is no racial connotation with the word...just trying to fill in the blanks, that's all.
