I go to work.
A dinner date is work.
I have incall couple a times a week thats going to the *office* so to speak.
My parents live busy lives I have a pack of kids I raised moving in and out of my life friends BFs Im busy

We look and act normal pay bills spend some save most.

I dont get the fascination with our lives.

I have been in this industry for over a decade, and my parents who are divorced & remarried both know what I do because safety is my #1 priority.
Providers raise kids. I am a stay at home mom this is the best job in the world it allows me the time I need to raise great kids. Most parents work all day & never spend quality time with their children, unless on the weekend if your lucky. I play everyday: Super MAMACITA! Life is GOOD!

I've been on my own since I went to college, so family members have not been aware of my schedule on a day to day basis.
However, when I asked my parents to dog sit my pups when I had trips out of town, they became suspicious. I'll never forget the day when Mom said, "You sure are traveling to some nice places for being a freelance writer!"
Yes, I do write and as a writer, income ebbs and flows. My life as "Lynette" supplements my income, plus, as Mom noticed, I get to travel to "nice places." Bonus!
So, when Mom questioned me, I came out to her. She was stunned at first but eventually responded with something like, "A girl's gotta' do what a girl's gotta do."
Funny how now when we say goodbye after a phone call or a visit, instead of saying "I love you" to me, my parents say, "Be careful out there!"

Well, anyone can say they can sing and/or write songs, but this one is actually legit. I do have many, many complete songs, and recently wrote an entire orchestral piece. It turned out pretty good. Just gotta' get it punched out on better software so it will sound like real instruments, lol.

...and there is no one here to say "hey, why arent you going to work everyday?" I dont physically watch any of my friends and fam members go to work, I take their word for it that they have jobs.
I dont really have a vested interest in how they make their money and how they spend it though, how comfortably someone else lives and how they can afford it isnt really something Ive ever been curious about.
Now yeah, if my cousin who is in college and lives with his parent went and bought himself a Lamborghini, we'd all be like wait what? But short of that, as long as no one is trying to borrow money lol who cares.
I used to, after doing something naughty, go somewhere and think everyone knows. I told a friend, and he said, "Yeah, I walk into church after doing something bad and think (covers his face) "aaaaaah! They can see right through me!" No one can... I can't see through them!"
But some people do have a lot of intuition. I try to steer clear of those ones, lol
The sad thing is, he doesn't even know he's judgmental. He wants to worm his way into girls' heads and into their lives, imagining what they deal with. And he has no clue. Then he blames people who call him on his bullshit.

The truth, this is an occupation a career choice, not an indictment on your soul. People who love and care for you don't have to love your choices. I tell my family the truth, I want no issues of being publically outed or anything like that. Pitfalls may happen in this career I for one want and need the support of my family if ever it happened to me.
The truth is always best to me, if they love you they don't have to like it but should be able to separate the person from the persona.

But a little while back, so,some who knew my Fam discovered my site, and so I told my parents because ID rather it come from me. Then have someone outside the family spring it on them. I told them I wasn't doing it anymore,though.
Which is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I don't have to lie and a curse because besides all the concerns and lectures about what I'm doing, I also get asked for money a lot. Another one is that two of my sisters and even my mom have secretly mentioned to me that they are tempted to jump in this line of work everytime they have money troubles because they see me living comfortably and having to work very little.
