Long distance appt makes me suspicious, just cancelled

All, please let me know if I'm paranoid:   Yesterday I logged into my P411 account and my local  listings included a  new provider with fabulous pix.   I live in a mid-size city with little to choose from, and she was listed as a new local provider.

After requesting an appt with this fabulous new girl, I discovered she was actually working in another city 160 miles away.  But she tried to set up an appt in my home town for later this week.  Her drive would be 2.5 hours one-way, five hours round-trip.

I understand that some providers will visit other cities and tour a region; P411 will flag that provider as 'Visiting'.  But there was NO mention of a tour/visit in her listing, nor in her e-mail to me.   I'm thinking that if she actually drove that far, there's a big upsell in store when I finally meet her.  Anyway,  my trick knee twitched and I decided to cancel.   --z

What you didn't say was how much she'd be receiving for making such a trip.  What you can't know is how busy she is.

Also, does she have reviews?

Having the answers to those three items would make it easier to come up with the answer.

Rate: $275 IN, $300 PIT   (I have no idea what 'PIT' means, checked both TER acronym dictionary & Urban dictionary).

Reviews: Two on ASPD.net, both positive reviews in another city.

I didn't ask about travel expenses, she was listed as local--that's part of the problem.  I don't intend to pay travel expenses for someone advertising as 'local'.

Consider: even at $300, that's very little for 5 hours of driving plus a one hour session.  There was no mention of a 'tour' or 'visit'.  The implication  is that she was working out of one city & could cover another 160 miles away.  --z

Yup, that doesn't sound like enough to justify the trip, unless it's her day off from Burger King.

PIT is a mistype of OUT.

Look one key to the left of "P" and "I".

IDK, it sounds like she is trying to get a foot in the door.  Perhaps be good enough that she will have a regular ir will come highly recommeded.  I live in a large metro area so I can't relateut I seen providers who travel back and forth to Richmond to DC and I never see a rate change and they do not advertise as visiting either.

I just got another mail from her, she was very sweet about the cancellation.  She explained that she lives in a small town & often drives long distances.

It still doesn't compute--why is she doing this?  Six hours of driving for a $300 session. Maybe she has other sessions lined up in my town, but I picked the day, she didn't.  That's what makes me nervous.  I would feel a lot better if she had said:  "I'll be in your town for Day X only, take it or leave it."    --z

I have a well reviewed lady driving 3 1/2 hours to see me on Friday. She did this about 1 month ago to see me as well. I only will see her for 1 hour for her normal fee as well as the last time she came.

She posted she was coming on our regional board to try and get more business and maybe that is what your lady will do. She even emailed me on where to get a room the 1st time as well as this time and asked me what other places could she post she was coming to town for the day.

My advice for you is if she is well reviewed then reschedule to see her...If you don't you might miss out on a session of your life....my .02

This is a tough economy. 300 bucks is a good days pay for a lot of people, especially a provider who doesn't have a reliable income source. Don't kid yourself, a lot of providers are happy to average one 1-hour gig per day right now. Besides, if she tries to get more $ out of you, all you would have to do is say no.

Maybe she likes visiting your city for reasons other than you are thinking, such as family/ friends/ bf in town.
