There was a recent thread posted about this documentary on another forum, so I imagine there's probably some overlap in the same people reading this here. Anyways it did end up getting deleted, there was no trailer and not much information at the time so people got kind of "nervous".
There's now a trailer and a page with a title. I won't link to anything else, I don't want to be advertising it or breaking any rules. So, I'm pretty much just posting it here to shine a little positivity to a world that's faced a lot of negativity in the media, especially recently. I do know that this documentary is going to be covering the "other side" of the story, and representing "pro-choice" (in the sense of choosing one's career or hobbies) aspects. There's a shorter version of the trailer too, but since I'm posting it here... I should probably post the long one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZXXqd7zfMI
t this video trailer gives me a case of the creeps. This woman is clearly emotionally detached. Her affect is disturbing. Maybe she's just nervous in front of a camera?
And who is this guy who's also her client who is also (seemingly) supporting her financially?
oye. Perception is reality.
Regardless of my personal take on what's happening, I think it's a slam-dunk that this particular video will do more harm than good with public perception.
Hey...how about a happy sex worker, instead of a young woman who gives every appearance of having had the very last drop of joy sucked out of her life? Or...at least a sex worker who doesn't look like she's not actually inhabiting her own body
Interesting... but a little boring and contrived. I liked American Courtesans! I think this would be better if they were a part of a documentary that featured other people. I'm not sure these two can capture many people's attention for an entire documentary.
I don't think she's emotionally detached, just young and inexperienced in front of the camera. But yes, not the best portrayal.

I hate to judge by such a short clip, but I definitely felt bad vibes from those two. It almost seems like a strawman that prostitution opponents can point to and say, "see? a 'voluntary' sex worker is just a victim who is lying to herself." It comes across too much as guilty people trying to rationalize their crime.
I think a good film would capture the joy and freedom that can exist in this profession. When someone is in their element and good at what they do, it speaks for itself and captures the attention.
he musical score made it downright depressing. It would have been better to have a more mature provider.
