Do you find that if a guy sits a date up with you about a month or couple of weeks a head of time, they seem to cancle out. Yes I know things come up but I would say out of 7 guys that set a date with me last month, about 5 of them didn't show up. 4 didn't even email or call. When I took the time to write them and say Hello, what happened to you? That is when they email me. Oh come on I know things come up , that is life but have the BALLS to atleast call or email early if you are not going to show, don't wait until we have to call you. Keeping smiling and Be nice.. BE-GOOD-I-TRY-To sassy
Yes, advance notice usually has a higher no-show factor. I do two things to relieve this: 1. I ask if they mind a reminder e-mail (two days prior seems to work well), and encourage them to "keep in touch" in the meantime. 2. I require a morning-of confirmation call.
If they don't call, I assume there is no appointment... and I have RARELY had a no-show since I changed to this arrangement.
Lovely Sassy, take the lead on preventing no-shows, it is in your best interest because it affects YOU not the gent in this case.
I book in advance a lot, actually prefer that as it gives time for good verification. I normally let the lady know when I will be updating her and always do the final confirmation about two days prior to the engagement. Doing things the way that I do gives me as much a piece of mind that I have an appointment as it gives her that she has a booking.
I am not surprised by what you describe. In pre internet/ter days many ladies would only accept same day or next day appointments unless you were a well liked regular, because of this problem.
The anticipation of a date with a provider is very similar with that of a non-provider. Before the date, you get a buzz of excitement of things to come. Booking too far ahead gives you all the excitement of a trip to the dentist.
I book same day appointments, calling at noon for an evening appointment. Hard to keep my mind on work while I think about the evening. Best yet is an impromptu call. Sometimes, I get home and the mood strikes. I call and get an appointment in a couple of hours. This has the added advantage as you get a clue if the provider is heavily booked and if so, I stay away.
A date with a provider is basically an impulse purchase or a way to give yourself a treat. Advanced bookings are okay for tickets to the theatre but don't make any sense for this most delicious of self indulgences.
Advance bookings work just fine when I can kiss her goodbye and say I'll see you next week, same time, same station. When trying to make the first appointment for next week, well, forget it. I have yet to encounter a provider that would; it's always call me back that day. Period.
I book as much as a month ahead on personal trips I take all of the time. However, I am the one who will send a message at a date closer to our scheduled meeting to re-confirm that I still plan on keeping the appointment. After all, I am the one who wanted to see this particular lady enough to schedule a month in advance. I'm also not the type of guy to contact a bunch of ladies in advance. I figure out who I want to see and only contact one. If that one is unavailable at that time I will then seek out another lady.
As other posters said i also book in advance and ALWAYS re-confirm a day or two in advance. as for the guys who do not show and do not call or email to let you know that they cannot make the appointment, well maybe they were not worth seeing anyway. Hey Sassy have you thought about a trip to JERSEY, you sound like a real nice lady and a quick look at your site....HOT LADY!!
I always require a sameday reconfirmation. That way, no surprises for either of us.
I also call the doctor's/dentist's/accountant's/etc. office before I leave for my appointment to make sure he is running on time. You'd be amazed how many times they say, "he is running late. Why don't you show up 45 minutes later?"
