END OF MESSAGE

I'm curious to hear from both providers and hobbyists about how you make (or prefer) intial contact.

I've noticed lately that I'm really not interested in answering the phone -- generally the calls are people wanting not only a same day, but same hour appointment (I can't get ready that fast!), or the call is from someone who hasn't done their homework, hasn't been to my website (or just glanced at it) and asking inappropriate questions about what services I offer, my rates, etc. (that's what I have a website for!).

Once in a very great while, a phone call will be from a nice, respectful, fun and engaging person. But this is so rare that, as I've said, I've gotten to the point where I dread phone calls.

I really prefer intital contact to be through email, giving me time to get to know someone gradually, and let him get to know me. I've even considered removing my phone number from my ads.

On the flip side is a girlfriend of mine who hates email, and prefers all contact to be via phone. She says she can tell alot about a person by his voice, and she'd much rather get to know people that way.

I'm curious to hear thoughts on the matter from both ladies and gents.

thanks!

That's how I communicate with everybody.  I like the fact that I can send it when I have time, and I know that the message is delivered.

I think the trouble comes from the amount of time to get the message returned.  If this is going to be your preferred method, please be sure to check it frequently, or we're gonna call you.

Since I am shy and lack quick verbalization skills, email allows me to formulate an introduction which shows the lady that I am not a psycho (I hope LMAO!!!!).  If I had to talk to a lady on the initial contact, she would probably think that I was a raving lunatic since I would be rambling all over the place with the possiblity of saying something that might offend her.  Not all hobbyists are extroverts and email assists in leveling the playing field.  Once emails are exchanged, I tend to get more comfortable so that by the time I call the lady, I am relaxed and can just enjoy the conversation without sounding like a complete dork (at least in my mind).

...my ATF only uses the phone.  I like e-mail for the initial contact & screening, followed up with a phone call, just to  hear the other's voice & how they present themselves.

If the e-mail is good, you can always give him your phone number and go from there.

It's all up to how much and what type of business you want/need to have.

I can do either but generally don't like leaving an audit trail via email anywhere.  Although (or because) I have worked in IT before I don't trust the technology and people's ability to work with it.  If I send an email I can't be certain a person gets it.  Then I can't be certain if they are reading it and so on.  While voicemail has similar risks, I generally am pretty sure they at least get the message.  If they don't respond I figure they are a flake or aren't interested, but I don't assume they are the victim of a fickle technology.  Also, more people know how to use a phone than a computer, in spite of what they should know.

thru an answering machine!.... this way both e-mail and the phone remain available to you.

it helps in screening/weeding out tire kickers, assholes etc., but I'll be honest, I'll usually pass on seeing an email only girl unless she's a 10/10. I give "good phone", and don't want to wait 2 days for email response. I like hearing your voice.

I do not have my phone number posted anywhere, so the first contact is always email. This enables me to screen out psychos, teenage pranksters and people who are just plain crude. Once someone has passed my verification process, then I give them my phone number and encourage them to call.

I am not being Bitchy but if you really want an to spend time with me I figure you can take the time too fill out my reservation form- It is there for a reason I swear- LOL It helps me keep track of who and when and where.

I have been traveling a lot and it is hard to keep track of three different cities of men who want to see me.

I love the phone calls- the personal touch it gives when a gent just calls and says hi or asks if I have time, but please fill out the form.

I and most other providers I would be willing to say rarely walk around with a pen and paper attached to our persons full of your names and numbers. Unless you want that information lying around on a scrap of paper in a trash can somewhere-

E-mail! E-mail! E- Male!

Damn thinking about you guys again already.

Email, at least initially. It's better for ue night people. Also, there are times when one should not be heard talking on the phone! "Who's that dear?" Opt for stealth!BTW BF, intro video is really neat. So are your rants, but it will take a while to read them all.

You may be receiving calls from men asking inappropriate questions because you have words like "slut", "prostitution" and various other graphic text on your site.  These men may feel more like they "could" ask YOU more detailed questions as opposed to a woman who is a bit more, um, discreet? coy? I think it is great that you like to be frank but you also may need to accept the fact that this will encourage men to feel as though they can "talk sex" with you more than someone who's website leaves more to the imagination.

My vote also goes for perhaps a voicemail system where you let them know you will call them back after they leave a brief message with name, number, and desired appt time. The guys that won't press for incriminating info will leave basic messages, the guys who put you at legal risk will ramble on and on about exactly what "service" they are seeking. Problem solved, and encourage email!

If the entire transaction is going to be so business like that we can't trade a few emails ahead of time, she's probably not the gal for me.

I use the phone for one thing in this hobby:

"Hi, it's Lex. I'm in the lobby."

I don't have time to talk to every Tom, Dick and Harry that calls and want to "Jack" off on the "Tele" Savalas.  However, once initial contact is made by email and there is an appointment set, then I like to chat for a bit on the "Tele" if possible.

Hugs,
Ciara
