I have noticed that providers on Bigdoggie provide discounts de rigeur to clients, but it seems to be the odd provider who does so on TER. I must be missing something. Comments?
Those discounts are reserved for guys who are paid TBD members. Their personal information is on file in a database which makes screening them a little easier for the lady's. That is part of the reason why they get a discount but trust me it is not much. Maybe $25 to $50 at the most and only a small percentage of the lady's in the directory offer that.
On TER I'm sure these ladies offer discounts, but it's kept quiet...you have to actually set an appointment with the provider to find out about the Discount or Special.
A. Some providers offer discounts to their Regualr/Repeat Clients.
B. Some providers offer discounts to get clients in the door.
C. Some providers offer discounts to make more money (More clients can afford the lower rate which results in more appointments).
---------------------------------------------------------------
Discounts & Specials can be a sore spot for a lot of providers.
The PROBLEM with discounts is:
1. If you (the provider) offer the discount for too long a period of time, then she becomes associated with that price, and it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get her "regular" rate.
2. "Some" clients (especially in Las Vegas) equate ANY provider charging under $300+ as a LOW CLASS provider (even if she is offering a special)...No matter how many reviews she has etc...
-----------------------------------------------------------
Here in Las Vegas the rates are a little "Jacked Up" due to the fact that we are in SIN CITY and the TOURIST nature of our town. Gentlemen are expecting to pay $400+ for the company of a woman.
Our providers get so "full of themselves"...if I may switch to EBONICS for just a moment..."the money get's good to them".
What these nice, beautiful, deserving ladies DONT realize is that in ANY OTHER STATE they would only be making $250 to $350 per hour...even the TOP girls would take a significant cut in pay.
In Lost Wages Nevada...I mean...Las Vegas Nevada offering a DISCOUNT is SUICIDE. You would think the gentlemen would be happy to have a nice provider for a "reasonable" price...HA! :0(
They feel (and rightfully so) that "you get what you pay for"
...but I'm not bitter or anything :0)
FLAME AWAY!

Tx, Sable. Interesting points. FYI -- I am in NYC.
I offer a standard birthday discount to clients that qualify. They have to book in advance and their b-day must be within 7 days of the booking date (hey everyone needs a little lovin' on their birthday
. Not only do they appreciate it but I have gained several great regulars by doing so. It seems as well that birthday boys really like to schedule several hours of party time so $100 off of a $800 Appt. seems reasonable as these are usually the gentlmen who come back for more. I recently ran an april special for pre booked daytime appt's as I never seem to work much then and my car just blew. I could use a few extra appt's per week but I have notice alot more irritating phone calls since I have done so. Seemed to attract alot of cheap no-class guys and some tried to get me down further. The upside is that I am booked all week with only two of the appt's in the day. This occurred because several clients originally saw the posting for the april special but when they were unable to book during the day they scheduled for another time at the regular rate. I don't know yet if I will ever offer another special like this again as it has been alot of work and by the end of the week I will be needing a few days of me time

I wont flame you. Your thinking is backed up by economics.
In the absence of comparables, people equate price with quality.
Even knowing the level of service, people still equate price with quality.
Someone charging a low price must be worse than someone charging a higher price. If someone offers discounts, it must be because they arent worth their regular price.
I think the only discounts that ladies can offer without seeming to cheapen their market value are unstated, non guaranteed discounts.
For example, letting a session extend from an hour to an hour and a half on occasion. Offering multiple pops if within the normal time range, etc. Grandfathering in current clients at their lower rates when they raise their normal rates, etc.
Places that are more transitory and money oriented like LV, I would almost expect the girls to compete, not on the basis of lower prices, but on the perception of higher quality because their price is above average. Kind of f'ked up if you are a consumer and understand it, but it makes sense economics wise.
Doesnt mean I dont want someone to offer me discounts though. ![]()
I agree with what you say. After you have been around the block a couple of times you realise that price and quality often have nothing to do with each other in this hobby.
Yeah. I have seen (and Mathasar's research seems to back it up) that better looking girls tend to be able to charge more than women who are not as good looking (coefficient of hotness).
Performance scores also 'seem' to correlate somewhat with price, but I have my own theory about that. I think that performance scores tend to correlate more with looks, and looks correlate more with price.
Are the performance scores objective and accurate though? I think many guys are temped to give a higher performance score to a better looking women, than they would with an average looking woman for the same service. I dont think it is conscious, but it just tends to happen.
Psychological studies have shown that people perceive physically attractive people as being more competant, more intelligent, etc (all good qualities). I think this tends to happen with providers as well. Nothing radical, but sevens become eights. Eights become nines, etc. Pushes their average up. There is no other way to describe some very nice, very hot women who give nothing more than a half decent handjob getting 8's and 9's.
I have had great service from ladies charging $400 and I have had great service from ladies charging under $200. Sometimes the $400 is a good value, and sometimes the $200 is overpriced. As with most things, YMMV.
