No matter how hot and reputable you “think” she is THIS is why you NEVER submit a deposit. It’s all over these boards. While there are some who are not anything similar to this gem most who demand a deposit should be swiped and you need to look for another provider.

I booked incall with a companion who regularly visits my city. She asked for a 25% Cashapp deposit. I paid and then the day before she asked for a similar amount to secure a hotel room because she was “short”. She was apologetic and acknowledged that I didn’t know her. Rather than paying her more up front I booked a very  nice room in a 4 star hotel. She was good with this and said she looked forward to meeting. Then a few hours before the meeting she sent me an email saying that she had an emergency that delayed her travel and could we do it the next day. I agreed and we agreed to reschedule for the next morning. An hour before the second appointment she emailed again saying she needed to reschedule for that night and she was getting a room. Unfortunately I had to leave for a business trip that evening and told her “maybe next time” she didn’t reply. She has 4 fairly recent positive reviews. Does this sound fishy to you? Up until then she had been very responsive. Should I ask for my deposit back?

Yes, this sounds fake. No, this was not me. (I don't do deposits). Lot's of gals do. That is OK, their business, up to them. PLEASE do not just go off reviews. Look at her website. Look at her twitter/switter/facebook, etc. Whenever I book a hotel I use my Visa, so this gal is saying she does not have ANY credit or debit cards? That right there to me seems odd. Yes, ask for your deposit back, but not sure you sadly will get it.  :(

intended to scam you, because she did offer to see you that night, but YOU couldn't make it.  This is often the problem with touring girls.  Her "emergency" that caused her to push you back a day was probably either a regular customer in her own city who wanted to see her, or that you were the only one who wanted to see her in your city.  Either way, these are the kinds of last-minute situations that often come up with touring girls.

With that said, I would ask for a credit towards a future meeting since you obviously wanted to see her, or offer to take a half refund of the deposit and move on.

When I receive a deposit that means the date is booked, so if she is continuing to reschedule she’s not professional. If she did not have enough funds for the room she would have told you from the start. She should reflect her website to state how she operates, or just offer outcalls only. Sorry that happened to you. There may never be a next time. You paid 25% for nothing?

She should have already, or post a link to who she is to warn others it’s a scam. Did you reach out to her reviewers to see if she’s legit?

After been burned several times, learned the hard way not agree to appointments with providers that require deposits.

I'm sure some have their reasons, but so I not to accept them, and that shouldn't be interpreted as disrespect. Just as there are reputable providers, there are reputable hobbyists.

Not only should you ask from your deposit back. You need to let your fellow hobbyists who this person is, to avoid being scammed too. That is the only real purpose of this community.

I’ll ask her for my deposit back and see what happens. If she ghosts me I’ll write a review. I don’t think I’ll reach out to the 4 previous reviewers. Too much effort and exposure.

Exposure?? LOL

Were you at least able to cancel the hotel booking without paying for it??

No. She confirmed so I booked the hotel.

So you lost even IF she refunds the deposit.

You should point that out to her too and ask for THAT money back as well.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - I'm glad she took your money. It's the only way you guys will learn to stop sending deposits and making it harder for the rest of us. These girls only ask for deposits because they know for every one guy that refuses to send them, there's another weak willed individual like yourself that will.

The way the agreement and transaction is handled following  that is what really matters. You both cancelled on each other ,so the best thing to do is  set another date with the deposit  in tact  OR ask for a refund.  You shouldn't have to ask by the way ,should be done automatically, since you were both at fault.
Deposits need to stop - too risky. I don't have this issue anymore (ten years ago I learned  my lesson), because, I will do a first contact and then the rest follow after I get to my  hotel . No more  days in advance date.

I’ve made the same mistake before too though, with a woman who had 20+ reviews over several years.  My situation was similar to yours, a touring lady who actually had like 25 reviews over several years. Now I don’t think she even came to my city. Maybe she didn’t get enough other “prebooks” but she already got the easiest $200 she’s ever made from me, so it was just too damn easy to block me and keep it. Or maybe she never even went on tour at all. It’s too hard to figure who’ll actually be honest or not, so I haven’t paid another deposit. It sucks for the legitimate ladies because I don’t doubt there are lots of shmuck clients who don’t show up or even call, but it’s just too easy to take advantage of.
