Maybe yes and maybe no. Some broad spectrum antibiotics can provide protection from some STDs. Since the antibiotic was not proscribed to treat a specific STD its a pure crap shoot.
In any event you are best served by taking full precautions as if you were not medicated.
Random thought that may have been addressed before, but I've been unable to find... Every winter I seem to get an antibiotic prescription for some malady. The prescription runs for about 2 weeks, but after 4-6 days I'm past the contagious part and feeling perfectly fine. So, does this provide a limited immunity to STD's that the doctor would prescribe an antibiotic to treat?

And truly, not really a preventive against anything since the antibiotics are in your bloodstream but not necessarily on the mucosal surfaces where the STD germs get their niche.
If only it were true- antibiotics prior to unprotected sex for protection! Imagine the super antibiotic resistant germs it would breed!
Well, babe I would certainly take Zithromax powder and wait 5 days every so often to clear Chlamydia from your system. It could make you and your partners infertile. You can't eat before or after the Z powder. How are we going to keep our civvies from being infertile? I will have to look up an antibiotic that can we can sneak into their food?
