I answered a post down below from someone looking for guidance in using a Female Condom and it made me wonder -- why it is so few ladies use them -- or are even willing to TRY them.  I mean, guys, the difference in sensation is HUGE -- like the difference between a CBJ and BBBJ.  Only more so.  I have a couple of theories -- see what you think...

A lot of ladies I query about using a FC have "heard" (the source is never disclosed and is never a result of personal experience) that they can get lost inside a woman.  So, they won't give it a try.  Has ANYONE EVER actually HAD this happen to them, personally?  Anyone familiar with the design of these things can see immediately that's impossible (unless the lady is the size of the Batcave, in which case there's no point to the session in the first place!).  Or, they've "heard" about increased risk of STDs.  Yet, providers I know who use them say they're even safer than old fashioned jimmies.  My guess it's all either an urban myth -- or an excuse for ladies to stick to the tried and true.

My other guess is that most GUYS prefer to stick to the tried and true.  But isn't that like settling for a CBJ when you really, really prefer a BBBJ?

It seems to me that ladies that can offer the pleasure of the dreaded BBFS, but with protection equal to old fashioned jimmies -- would enjoy a substantial competitive advantage than ladies who don't.  I mean, the sensation is so much better, it's just that much easier to get addicted to them!

So, why do you suppose FCs are still a (relative) rarity (and not more universally used) in this hobby?  Supply does tend to follow demand. Could it be because we guys simply don't ask for them?  What do you think?  (BTW, I've got years of reviews posted on TER and I'm in no way shilling for the female condom)

I'm really glad you brought this up because this is a common misconception...a female condom covers about 2-inches all along the OUTSIDE of your vaginal lips -- in addition to the inside.  There's even less chance of infection with an FC than with regular condom, because there is less contact between skin.  With traditional jimmies, both male and female are grinding together pubic hair, testicles, juices are smearing everywhere.  If you pick up a FC and look at it, you'll see how it covers more area, thus affording more protection.  I'm glad you mentioned this concern because I've found you are one of the most level-headed and thoughtful people on this board , so if you worry about this it shows how prevalent the misconceptions are.

... and quite addictive for gents like me, IMHO.  I don't imagine I'm alone in this regard.  Being addicted to a lady can only be a good thing, right? RIGHT?  Ladies, please use them as a force for good.  Hey! Any other ideas why Female Condoms aren't more prevalent in the hobby?

Experiencing the female condom and then going back to a regular condom is like going back to a CBJ after experiencing a BBBJTC.  I suppose it's possible to digress, but it's not likely.

... the myth being that ladies have "heard" from "somewhere" that a guy can accidentally slip out of the female condom and wind up going bareback.  If you've ever actually SEEN one of these things, you can see how that's beyond unlikely. It's even less likely than a condom breaking.  Here's why:

The outside of the FC has a heavy rubber ring that covers the whole area about an inch or two outside the vagina.  The ring is much thicker and rigid than a rolled-up condom.  For a guy to slip out and enter bareback, his penis would have to be as flexible as a plumber's snake.

I suppose it might be possible if a guy were going at it at extremely high speed.  But, even then, he would have to repeatedly withdraw COMPLETELY and reinsert over and over at high speed for there to be even a remote chance of this happening.  Again, simply looking at the design and how it fits inside will show this possibility is about as likely as a condom breaking.

I bring this up because I'm sure someone may post this myth later tonight, after I've gone beddy-bye here in the East.  But let me get back to my original question:

WHY aren't FC's more prevalent in the hobby given the fact the sensation is so much better than wearing a jimmy.  WHY aren't more providers trying it?  Is it because we guys don't want to deter from the tried-and-true?  (P.S.  I'll say again I am NOT shilling for the female condom --  I happen to believe in them big time and wanted to share with others)

..nevermind, I wasn't clear on whether these were also "once and done", but found out they are, so given what seems to be a bit of a tedious insertion process, is it a dtriment to keeping in the mood at all?   Now I also read they can be used as dental dams, but dang it, I prefer NOT to have to wear a bid when dining!! :)

Here's a link and scroll down for the insertion process.

what type of synthetic material they're made from, because I'm very sensitive to certain fibers, even some condoms.

They're made from polyurethane, like some male condoms. Transmits body heat unlike latex. Here's a link I fount with google: http://www.femalehealth.com/theproduct.html

I'm going to try posting a link below that will take you to the company web site.  There is a lot of information there.

They certainly don't look very attractive - like a balloon hanging out of the lady!
Elegantelise is a big promoter of them, so maybe she will join in the topic..?

I'm up for the education on them. I can think of a few guys that would definitely benefit from them and I'd be willing to try it at least once, providing they aren't latex, and that they aren't hard to insert.

..you don't have to be "hard" for the application! :)~~

And from what I read, they are made of polyurethane.

And it's not harder than trying to roll a condom onto a semi-turgid male unit.  A very little bit of practice WILL definitely help.  You can even put in on before your appointment arrives, if you're worried about spoiling the mood.  I even assist a lady using one for the first time -- I do a little patter about how I always had this funny kinky fantasy about playing doctor when I was a kid.  It gets a laugh and makes the first time less awkward.  As for ease of use, one lady after a couple of experiences says it's not much harder than "ramming the tam" as she put it.

I have also stopped using certain condoms because I was told they
can cause infection and also some  are being taken off the market not good.

So ladies find out what works and what not to use xoxoxo

Hey all,
O.K., maybe I'm unimaginative, never been accused of that before but, hey, always a first time.
I read the links posted (thanks guys) and I seem to understand all the oh so informative, carefully clinical, pictures. But...somebody who's used one, help me out here.
What's to keep that outer circle from sliding up inside me as we are carrying on our "athletic activites"? I mean as we are moving together wouldn't it just slide/get pushed up in there?
I'm all for anything that feels better than the usual condoms, but, also don't want to inadvertantly bare back.

i am a huge fan of FC's. I am lucky enuff to have a provider that wants to remain nameless on TER us them. To me they feel more like the real thing and I can actually "get Off" using them, unlike male condoms that disensitize me. She was recommended them by her OBGYN. they stay in place, and I rock it hard. Give it a try ladies with your own man, then maybe we will all benefit from you bringing them into the work place.  play safe............

This is a common urban myth I mentioned up above in the thread.  The outside of the FC has a heavy rubber ring that covers the whole area about an inch or two outside the vagina.  The ring is about 3 inches wide altogether. The ring is much thicker and rigid than a rolled-up condom.  For a guy to slip out and enter bareback, his penis would have to be as flexible as a plumber's snake.  The ring is so thick and rigid it's next to impossible for it to get pushed inside.  It's more likely that a traditional condom will break than one of these things to get pushed into a female.
