In light of CLassyDC and DMV exposure of client lists, if a person was a client of these organizations only but not other agencies, How do you get on other agency verification without getting into the same fiasco as before with Classy or DMV? Any body know of other reputable agencies like Classy or DMV (without the same kind of attention they got from LE)?

Personally, I am afraid of Indys as you dont know what you are getting into and all the verification needed with multiple providers! People suggest date check and P411, but they request so much private info and what happens when they get taken down?

Looks like this hobby has so many perils, when its such an harmless and victimless crime. Any opinions.

I've had no trouble getting screened by several agencies without giving up sensitive info.  My P411 and Date-Check memberships sufficed.  Most would also say you have a greater LE exposure using agencies because they're the big fish LE goes after.  You hardly ever hear of a well-reviewed indy girl getting busted.  As for P411 getting busted, it's not going to happen because they're located in Canada.  You can talk to them directly and they'll offer you alternative kinds of info you can provide.  Once you're screened by them the info is destroyed, they say.  Do they really do it?  I don't know.   But there is no record of them compromising anyone's identity.  Doing it would destroy their business, so there's no incentive for them to misuse info.
Finally, there is no way to entirely take the risk out of this game.  You can minimize it, but if that's not good enough this "hobby" may not be for you.

I don't know the real numbers, but national news ("news and entertainment"? newstertainment? entertainnews?) coverage will only do the story on the agency, esp the big agency and even a bigger story if they have or are rumored to have high profile clients. If a local indy is busted, it's just a local story in the back pages of the town newspaper. Most of us will never even hear about them.

You can join date-check without giving them any private info if you can get a reference from a date-check provider.  This is how I became a member.  And once you are a member and have a few references this is all many providers need.
