I just posted this message in response to a Newbie question on that Board, and I felt that it would be good to share with all.  It?s about a new referral service that operates differently from those like RoomService 2000.  Here goes:

A good many hobbyists object to referral services, like RoomService 2000, because of the data that's retained that can come back to bite them on the foot.  I agree with them for the most part.  But I just discovered one that I like so much that I did join.  It's called Date-Check (link below).  I like it because:

1.  It's a no charge service, except for provider advertising.  I think there is a nominal monthly fee to providers for the service.

2   The amount of information that is retained is absolutely minimal.

3.  They do nothing really to investigate the member.  To become a member, you must be verified by a Provider who is already a member of the service.  She simply verifies that she knows you and that you?re a straight up guy (no pun intended).

4.  Providers become members the same way.  They are verified as SP's by other SP's.  Also, because this is a start-up operation, they will allow, in some instances, Clients to verify Providers.  Again this is, I think, only for the time being because they do not have a large base of clients/providers as yet.

I think that this particular service will take off because of the reasons listed above.  I found it last week, got verified in just 1 day, and already used it to book appointments.

Just my opinion.  Would love to hear others.

Simply put, from a provider's point of view - I love it!! I wish more gentleman would take part in it.

I was wrong about the "no cost" feature of Date-Check.  For clients it's $60/year, and they give you 15 months for the money.  So Sorry!
