Most providers are doing it of there own free will, for the thrill, the cash or maybe even for drugs. Even many ladies with pimps that mistreat them. There is a minority though that are truly trafficked and the lady believes or liberality has no other choice but to provide or bad things would happen to her or those she cares for.
I know this to be true because I close to a woman that was truly trafficked. Part of the reason I spend so much time screening is to make sure the ladies I see are there of there own free will. Now I have often wondered what I would do if I did run across such a situation.
I have too much time to just think and I decided to come up with a plan on how I would help if I knew a lady was truly being forced by a scum bag trafficker. I know most providers are not trafficked, but what would you do if you found out about a true trafficking situation during your screening? What if you was face to face with a woman that claimed to trafficked?
Please don't turn this into a thread about how often ladies are trafficked as even one lady being truly forced is too many and as hobbyists and providers we are more likely to run across this then anyone other then maybe vice. I know someone it happened to and the only reason she escaped was her traffickers was arrested for drugs. It does happen. She even had TER reviews from her trafficked days. She was even under age at the time.
They like being providers and choose the lifestyle, cash & all the baggage that comes with. By contrast - Most all traffic situations are with illegal immigrants and most by far are with Asians & latins in major cities.
Trafficking is simply not an issue on this site. Most on these board are Indys or work with legit agencies.
One is delisted and I only heard about but it was a confirmed case. the other is now out of the mess but was trafficked and it severely messed her up in some ways. I have heard rumors of other cases in the past but can not prove it. I have no proof that those happened so I am not counting on it. But I do agree they are a minority and likely much less then 95% of the ladies but just the two I know of put the number above 99.999%, and 0.001% is too high.
Scoed, I agree with your thoughts/concerns. It is the part of the business that bothers me the most and I have run into some of the darker side of the business often enough that it is always a conscious thought when I am looking to meet someone new.
I also agree that the number of trafficked ladies on here is far more than one in 10,000. I suspect it is “small”—certainly much smaller than on the streets, in AMPs, or on BP-like sites overall. I have no way of estimating but if it was 5% to 10% it would not shock me. I have seen a few who later it turned out were controlled and it was a very disheartening experience.
I have changed how I go about deciding who to meet when I am looking for someone I have not seen before. Sadly number of reviews by itself does not seem to be an indication. What does seem to work for me is a combination of:
--Contact them by e-mail a couple weeks before I plan on being in their city. Tell them a little about myself, tell them I may be in their vicinity soon but it is tentative and exact date unknown. I see how they respond. If they basically send be a generic, “Thanks Babe, call me when you’re ready” I skip them. It is not a sure sign they are trafficked but the coerced ladies I have met were all less likely to invest the time to cultivate a potential client.
--I make it clear my preference is for a dinner date with play time at my hotel. Almost any real trafficked person is on short leash and their handler/pimp is often leery of letting them out of their close control.
--The odds increase with younger South American and Asia women so I am extra cautious there.
--If she does not screen I pass—for more reasons than trafficking.
These do not guarantee I avoid the trafficked ladies, and certainly not all in-call Asian ladies are trafficked by any means, all I can do is play the odds.
On the other side of your question, if I came upon someone I strongly suspect was coerced I would contact some form of LE, Federal preferred. Exactly what route I would take depends where it happened. Several guys (and a couple ladies) I went to school with are now cops in a few cities and some of them would be an option for me. My work has made me contacts in several federal agencies and I might use them in some cases. A lot depends where it is, how strong my conviction something is wrong, and how big I think it might be. If for some reason I did not feel comfortable going the LE/Fed route I would at least contact a battered women’s shelter in the area. The contact need not be in person or with a name attached, it can be done anonymously.
I am sure some of the folks on here will seriously disagree with all I have said above. Some have valid issues and different experiences than I have had. Others a content being oblivious. And of course there will be some of the flaming aliases who cannot abide any serious topic of conversation (not at all asying all aliases fit that description).
Its incredibly (I'd say willfully) naive to thing that at most there is one TER reviewed sex worker acting on her own free will.
Most are turning tricks because it pays more than what they could make using thier skill set but there are more than a few who are under control of a pimp etc.
I've been in this situation a couple of times. In both cases I didn't really figure out what was going on until after the fact. Actually, the last time was several years ago and I found out when the agency was busted and the owner, a woman, put on trial and convicted for human trafficking.
Both cases were bargain-basement brothel or AMP situations and I simply avoid both now. Before someone shows up screaming that not all AMP girls are trafficked let me say that I am very well aware of that. I was however with one woman who was and it was disturbing enough that I never went to another AMP after that.
To answer your question, I don't have a plan but I don't anticipate ever needing one either.
...where you are pretty sure corruption is minimum: Call the police. Notify the authorities. Most Johns are far too chicken shit and embarrassed about seeing hookers to call out bad stuff they might become aware of. The bad guys know that, and count on it. Trafficked hookers are often embarrassed and ashamed too, and the bad guys also count on that.
In another country, well, it gets harder, because sometimes stuff gets really tangled up.
But in both the U.S. and other countries, even really fucked up ones, there are local and international agencies dedicated to stopping trafficking. Even if you don't have a plan, they do. Google 'anti trafficking' or whatever and contact them.

Dear Scoed:
What are the signs that you look for when you have a question of whether or not someone is being trafficked? Also what would be the behavior of someone who would be under suspicion of being trafficked?

You have no idea. Trust me. Within the half hour or hour or two or whatever you pay for, she is whatever she thinks you want.
Is she happy? How the fuck would we know? We guys don't know shit. We pay so we don't have to think about it, right?
Of the two I am sure about, both had great reviews and one had a long history of them. Both put on acts for the clients they seen. I tend to stay away from ladies with drives and those that don't handle there own calls. But again that is not a sure ting as the one with reviews answered the phone with the pimp standing over her. In the end I generally go on my gut gut and will back out if I suspect she does not want to be there.
I am no expert at telling a trafficked woman from one that isn't. I just do the best I can and hope I don't get it wrong.
... and everything stated is hypothetical in a fantasy world and of no import ...
I can say that if in such a fantasy world if I encountered a trafficking situation, I would be a believer in vigilante justice.
Shall I bring out my WMD?
