A new strain of Covid was identified in the UK in December. At that time there were 1,108 cases in parts of England.

The CDC reports that this new strain has now been detected in over 30 countries, including the United States. As of January 15, there have been 88 cases in America. 40 are in California, 22 in Florida.

Forewarned is forearmed.

this whole covid thing is freaking me out.   What precautions are people taking? I've bascially stopped, saving my money for when things are better.

Staying masked, keeping my distance, getting vaccinated. I'm not worried about dying. But I'm not contributing to someone else's death.

Dr. Fauci has said recently that getting vaccinated will protect you from getting the symptoms of covid but will not necessarily stop you from spreading the virus to others. He said that people have to continue to be masked up and follow social distancing guidelines even after being vaccinated. In my opinion this may make this even more dangerous because now we will have asymptomatic people who have been vaccinated unknowingly spreading the virus because they are not sick or show symptoms. Correct me if I am wrong because I hope I am.

I am 70 and have some health issues.

I wear a mask when I leave my home, get most things delivered, only go to drive-throughs or curbside pickup when it cannot be avoided, use Clockwork and other apps to talk to my physicians, and only allow immediate family (2 adults, 2 children) and friends (3) into the house.

Otherwise I am alone in my home. Thank God for internet porn.

So this is hardly anything new. We most likely already have had literally tens of millions of people who have had COVID who never showed a symptom and millions more who have had symptoms so mild that they simply brushed them off as nothing to worry about.

I guess this is not what you wanted to hear, but who knows, maybe you are one of those millions upon millions of people who caught it and never knew it and are, at least for the short term with nothing to worry about??? lol

The reason Fauci said that is because there's been no testing to find out if someone who's been vaccinated can still transmit the virus asymptomatically. Hell, there are very few people who've been vaccinated once and almost no one's been vaccinated twice. So who knows when we'll find out. But there's at least a decent chance that once you've been vaccinated twice you are incapable of spreading the virus.
We'll see.

That the vaccine is the panacea that most make it out to be. We'll see.

The UK and Ireland curves are pretty radical.
