Cruel and Unusual Punishment for being so kind

A wonderful gentleman posted under a traveling ladies thread and was scolded like a child and punished for 30 days...Accused of Shilling, the gentleman doesn't even live in her city, not that i think that should matter anyway and I can't believe these are TER rules...

Talk about "NEW RULES"

Here is the response to his deleted post...what do you all think!!!!!

In Favor to you for your multipe stupidy in posting. I have now moderated you for 30 days. Oh, and I am not kidding. I was going to go see Thirsty tonite but now that you pissed me off, he isn't getting any. You'll be lucky if he doesn't keep you moderated for longer.
Oh, don't cry to your mod either. You posted in the Boston board. We don't like your kind, shills, that is...(we only like only like east coast local shills) ;)

You see the response from who took down his response calling him a shill, stupid, not in her city and he's being moderated for 30 days, that was his punishment...

That was not posted by our moderators.  It was posted by another unmoderated provider under an alias.  Last time I checked we ran out of GODDESS-ORATORs.  She has been moderated (for 30 days) and warned.  I am sorry about this.

his post was taken down, and the post by GODDESS-ORATORs post was not funny in the least...put yourself in his place reading that...how would you feel much less how do you think the provider felt.

I still don't understand why his post was taken down.

What is an ad post?  Did the post that was deleted by the mod contained reviews etc. and that triggered the mod to impose the rule book?

I am confused about the last moderator post, was that in response to the provider?

it sounded to me it was meant for the guy...
Ad post is for the provider to run a special or a traveling ad as what she was doing.

This is what the guy said on the Phoenix board:

I posted a message on the Boston board, praising providers Terri Kares and Tina Pink, and winkingly wishing I could be in Boston, too, when they are. The message was removed and a mean spirited message called me a shill. I am a relative newby on the boards, and I simply was expressing my appreciation for the way these ladies treat their clients. I have never received or been promised a favor in exchange for a glowing review. I've seen other posts on the boards where hobbyists compliment providers. Why was mine singled out? I guess I don't understand board protocol.

GODDESS-ORATOR seems to think she has more power than she actually has.  All I see is that she is "claiming" to moderate this guy but there is no evidence that she can.  He took down his own post.  So why is everyone panicking? I'm surprised that she wasn't moderated herself or even booted off TER.  What happened to not posting messages on the board that are "simply mean, or meant to cause trouble for trouble's sake"?  Well, as long as she stays on the Boston board, I really don't care about her drama.

On behalf of the good folks on the Boston board, I want to apologize for getting off to a rough start with some of you. My style of moderating (Boston, Carolinas, NYC and Philly) is to let the board communities police themselves as much as possible. I tend to let a lot go. In fact, I’m usually not happy unless I’m stirring the pot a bit myself. ;) These boards tend to be very active for this reason.

In hindsight, as the Boston Moderator, perhaps I should have edited the offending thread a bit. However, had I done so, we probably wouldn’t have had as many visitors between our two regional boards in the last 24 hours. If this thread did nothing else, it got people on the Phoenix board posting about the Red Sox, Yankees and Patriots. ;)

I think everyone needs to mind his/her own business and not try to ruin others' businesses. If someone wants to compliment someone, then so be it. If there's a lot of shilling, then so be it -- go to the Phoenix board to get your thrills and shills guys. I hope these vindictive women and men stay off of the National Board. I agree, Terri, it's silly.
