I love to speak french to a woman...does a cover keep her from enjoying it...or is she sacrificing pleasure for safety...will she feel anything at all? How does that work? Never done it...

No can do. Really ruined it for me. Tastes terrible, blew my technique (though I'm sure there's a covered technique) and just put a damper on the whole thing...soooo...I had to re-evaluate the whole picture..
In the decision of "pleasure and safety", I've chosen to simply be very selective and particular in other ways.
And, of course, if ever I feel that it does call for a cover, then a cover will go on...

In my experience, covered DATY is enjoyable, just not as enjoyable... The best way that I have found is using Saran Wrap because it's thin, but covers.... Just make sure that you don't tear it!!!  *wink*
