I think ESPN.com, CBS.com and others offer this.  TER is for other interests IMHO.

...and someone will refer you to the "sport board".  I think it would be great to give these folks one more board for policing this board.

A lot of people thought it would just lead to more "policing"  I have no idea what that really means or why anyone thinks it's a big deal.

There's already a Politics & Religion board, as well as a legal and humor board.  Can Big Brother be far behind with his One World Government!!??

I think it's perfectly reasonable that the General Discussion board should be for hobbying issues only but very people agree so that's how it is.

Don't know why people want to talk politics and sports here.

If you talk about boxing, and more boxing, and people will bet me money on boxing, I'll never leave

I would probably even find myself betting services against cash on a fight i was REALLY sure of

We discuss which of the provders are good sports.

We describe hits and misses.

We often discuss scoring.

We know who the tight ends and wide receivers are in the community.

We know about multiple shots on Goal.

We discuss clock management.

We discuss dates that go downhill.

The reviews keep score of many dates.

Why do we need another board?

Hobby on Sportfans!

There are other sites such as ESPN, NFL, MLB, and numerous specific team and media websites with discussion boards for serious sports fans.  Besides, there is nothing to stop any TER member from posting sports related posts on any of TER's boards, and these do show up at various times...

TER won't set up a sports board and they won't take escort reviews.

(Though it would be interesting what pros the pros choose for themselves, wouldn't it?)

The reason I mentioned this was not to censor people off the General Board for talking sports.

I mentioned this to see if people wanted an OPPORTUNITY to discuss sports IN MORE DETAIL with the people in this forum, like is done on the Politics/Religion board.

Yes, I know you can go to many sports sites which have boards there.  You can do the same with politics.

It was more just the concept of "one stop shopping", or if people wanted to chat it with people on here.  That's all.  I'm not even a big sports fan, but I see the occasional posting on here, and I thought it might be something people enjoyed.

Absolutely with you here on this, MSD.

It would be just like P/R board.  Those not inteested would stay away.  Those so inclined would visit the board.  Simplicity itself.

Let me propose  some questions for the Sports Board :

1. what professional sport attracts the best-looking groupies, and which one attracts the worst? ;

2. what city has the best-looking sports groupies, and which city has the worst? ;

3. your fave team loses AND fails to cover the spread. You take both an emotional anda financial hit.  How does this effect your hobbyng behavior?  Do you hobby to klll the disappointment of defeat, or do you refrain because you're in the wrong emotional frmae of mind?

As a side benefit, a sports board could possibly be a way to drain off some of the famed levels of anger we find on the politics board.

Really a good idea, and I think it ought to be seriousl;y considered.

if the majority voted 'Yes' then you'll have your SPORTS discussion board in less than 48 hours :o) how about that? :o) Actually you may want to go to home page and vote now!!!!
