Continued societal engineering via mass media brainwashing

Keep repeating a lie long enough and it takes on the appearance of truth. Fox, MSNBC, Adolf Hitler, The Salem Witch Trials, The Spanish Inquisition. All use or have used the same method of brainwashing.  
 The "Hobby" as we call it could/would have a huge impact on many social and commercial levels of our culture. Dating, courtship, engagement, marriage, children, a mortgage for a home in the suburbs with the obligatory two cars in the garage. Repeat that 100 million times generation after generation and a pretty solid socioeconomic formula ensues. The 'church' has always been about controlling the masses, subsequently it has been in collusion with every government since the pre-Mosaic period.

America was founded by Christian religious zealots. Puritanism is our history. Any capitulation showing a woman can enjoy economic independence through voluntarily selling carnal comforts, or a man can satisfy his omnipresent sex drive without signing a fiduciary contract threatens government/religious control and the many levels of the economy built around it

I agree with some of it. The real sex slave trade, underage people, victims and stuff.
All the trouble that happens on the dirty streets. Their other program Catching a predator, is ok too.

What I don't get is why they don't differentiate between that and here, you, us, here.

They group all together dumbly.

Government/Religious control?... That in and of itself sounds like a brainwashed response, seeing as the exact same entity would be the same one who would legalize/decriminalize the profession.

Time to present some new ideas.

I think many an entrepreneur could find opportunity in such a change.  

Unfortunately, the essence of politics is power and control; creating freedoms is hardly part of the agenda, for many reasons.

  I firmly believe if we ever become a totally "cash-less" economy prostitution will soon after be legalized. It is too big and profitable a market for the Treasury Department to ignore. As long as we retain "cash" the profits go largely UN-reported. But if every swipe of a client's credit-debit card leaves a monetary cyber paper trail to the provider of the service the reporting is DONE! The FED would tell the churches and moralists to take a long hike off a short pier rather than give up such revenue potential.

Yes; it is about "power and control". And for the same reasons of inability to "control" the Feds won't give the green light to Cannabis despite 75% of the American public wishing it so.

although a purely monetary decision to legalize isn't something I can envision happening. Too many other factors to balance (like puritanism)
