I'm surprised at the number of ladies who are in this business and smoke.  It seems like it's around 25-30% of the providers, which seems much higher than the general population.  It also seems like it has "pockets" around the country.  Tampa is high, California is low.  

What are your thoughts?  Does the business have a higher number of smokers than the general population?

Over 20% of the general population smokes, so the number of smoking providers being close to that doesn't surprize me...  although, frankly, I figured it to be higher.  The parts of the country where there has been a stronger anti-smoking environment will understandably have fewer smokers (like CA, where it's been essentially illegal for a good while now to smoke anywhere but in your own home or car.)

Quitting is not so easy.  You are to be commended.

I enjoy DFK greatly and doing that with a smoker is like licking the bowl of a pipe.  Yuck!  And so many seem to think that a breath mint will do the trick and we will never know.

I find the most in the Northeast and the least in Calif.
