haha ok well not really like it sounds!
I am sun burned hehe !
I was taking some time for some R and R and playing in Tahoe with my son, well we had a blast, and then we went to Virgina City, home of the comstock.. I have some interesting facts that pertain to this hobby..I never knew that the comstock era was home to the main part of "world's oldest profession"

Well, when the comstock started, and was in its prime, there were around 3,400 men to 147 women, most of the men could not bring their wives, unless they were rich..
The laws were so relaxed at the time that there were almost no laws on prostitution.. in fact 59% of the women in that area were prostitutes, while other women were house maids, but had to compete with the japanese men that were working in the houses as man servants

there were 5 types of prostitutes
1. the actresses/courtesans..
they were the only ones that really saw any wealth or luxury in this business, they usually chose 1 gentleman a evening

2. the "independant " or middle class prostitutes, they lived in white tiny homes called they "red light" district on D st

3. The asian women that lived in "china town" these were the worst conditions, they were treated as slaves

4 Saloon girls.. they were the ones that lived in Saloons, and some of the saloons were very well kept, one in particular gave each girl her own room

5. the "madame" while she handled mostly the business end of it, she did see men on occasions

the most famous of all the courtesans was "Julia Bullete" she was born in Oklahoma and married, but left her husband and came to the comstock, she was actually from England but felt that a french name fit the business better
she had a home on D st and it was a 2 room home with a kitchen, the parlor fit 12 men and her room had a sink, toilet etc,
she was well liked and famous for her courtesy and generosity in the gentle way she treated the men, she was probally the first idea of what a GFE was,
She wore dark linens, but had a bevy of jewels and furs, in fact at the Opera House, they gave her her own section shielded from public view
one night at midnight she went to meet a man and he strangled her and took all her jewels and furs
she was given a grand funeral the nicest the town has ever done, that was how well she was liked
and they found the man and hung him promptly

at the height of comstock, 35,000 people lived in Virgina City and now there is around 1,100
the women usually charged $1-2 a session and saw 1-2 men a night and lived very comfortably
well I found this very interesting hehe
stuff I never knew

love sasha love
ps missed all you guys!

Interesting stuff.  Might be good for a film, TV or HBO.  I'd like to look into it.  Thanks

Call the Virgina City, Nevada visitors info place hehe and they will send you all the info on it, and there was a book written by the man who killed her, it was given to his lawyer

sasha

In light of what you say, it's an odd coincidence that at the same time the great Comstock Lode of gold and silver was being worked in Nevada, back east a gent by the name of Anthony Comstock was at the height of his career on the national stage as an influential moralizing bigot.  Some of you may remember him as the villain character played by Rod Steiger in the 1995 TV biopic about birth-control pioneer Margaret Sanger.  In fact, I had to do a kind of double-take in reading Sasha's first message, because I was thinking of the Comstock era in relation to Anthony.
