A gmail app with enabled access to your Facebook account.
Go to Settings in your Facebook account. Find the Apps menu. Find Gmail or anything that looks related. Disable access for that Gmail app to your Facebook account.
Is exactly what it's designed to do. You can manipulate some settings. But, no guarantee you can keep your personal and private life separated. You can be certain of what you do. But you cannot be certain of what others might.
Thanks guys . I am really so unhappy about this , seriously ... Imagine your facebook being linked to your hobby email addy Seriously if i wanted that i would do that . Thanks guys for helping ... Kendall Lynn

If you don't address the hole that allowed FB to link to your Gmail account in the first place, creating a new Gmail account might fix the problem in the near term. But it could come back. And, that problem might not be anything you have direct control over.
Something allowed FB to link with your Gmail email addy. It could be something as simple as using your gmail addy to buy something on Amazon. You have to establish a wall. I would advise a different laptop/phone/tablet for Kendal communication vs your 'real' life communication. And then, never mix the two
2. On your computer, use a different browser for Facebook than you do for everything else...for example, Safari for Facebook, firefox for everything else.
You can also make sure not to browse other sites while you're on Facebook, and clear cookies (or selectively clear the Facebook cookies) immediately after you log out.
with how you segregate all the different apps you use for communication.
Many have defaults that automatically try to negotiate synchronization across all services.
You need to go through everything you use and disable any of those features.
If you keep on top of it, it shouldn't be an issue.
I have multiple online identities, for each sphere of interest...personal, professional, this world, music, cycling...etc. All very much separate with absolutely no crosstalk.
Admittedly it's second nature for me because I've been a technologist for over 30 years..
It is pretty easy to link emails and such if it is on the net. This is called data aggregation using web crawler and correlating things it finds on the net at the backend.
If you use Google you should also check your Privacy settings. If you use, Safari or Firefox, there is an extension for https (encrypted) you can down load and use with Google which makes it difficult capture your information on the net.
You should also think of using Do not track and Ad Block extensions for the browser. They seem to work pretty well and have been using them for quite some time now.
