Does any one else feel that a couple of recent posts appear to be to thinly veiled attempts by guys to fish for compliments?   Is it just low self esteem that drives them to do that?

Please rest assured, that not only do i have low-to-nonexistent self-esteem, but am terminianlly insecure and masochistic as well.

I really wanted nothing more than to be confirmed in my self-loathing and feelings of total worthlessness.  But I'm such a waste of a life, i managed to screw that up as well.  LOL

I don't know if you are referring to me, but when I posted on a topic a few threads down, it was because I had a legitimate question.

some guys need this & I'm happy to oblige.  Ego stroking is on my job description.

...but considering the enormity of my "ego", I'm not quite sure the root reason is low self esteem.

For me, flattery is like beer: I can live without it, but I'd rather not.
