I dont want to bring anyone down, but we all need to know about this.  The reauthorization of the Human Trafficking law contains an amendement to make all prostitution a federal crime punishable by many years in federal prison.  This would cover even consenual adults.  Trafficking or not...not matter.  FBI would lead enforcement.  

The Washington Post has an article on it dated 11/29/07.  This measure has already passed the House of Reps.  I dont think Senate has acted yet, but we know they wont kill the human trafficking reauthorization.  Whether they can or will accept the amendment or not, I dont know.  They must reauthorize human trafficking before year end so politicians are hamstrung into voting for it and may not waste time fighting it.  

I think its a move to shutdown Nevada's legal operations by overriding federal law....and it will.  

If you think local vice squads are tough, the FBI operates like the Gestapo.  When the move, its with considerable force.  They storm in and shut things down and they arrest poeple without bond to be in jail for months on end until trail.  Citizens can scream all they want, but federal prosecturors are not elected and they wont hear reason.

Email your Senator that these amendments are unconstitutional, unnecessary, and a misuse of federal govt authority.  

One more thing, if the 2008 elections have you stumped, Presidential Candidate Ron Paul advocates legal prostitution...and he is the only candidate who will even touch the issue.

No one has passed anything yet. The house FAC approved the legislation and that is all. The bill has yet to be taken up by either legislative branch and does not have the support of the justice department.  The FBI has better things to do than scan Craig's list for lolli pop specials.  I have posted a link to the article if anyone is interested in reading it before they jump on BKK's bandwagon...

Oh yeah, we all know how lucrative the escort market is in DC, all you have to do is watch the national news. So I see a bunch of Washington politicians/johns voting to put themselves in jail... right.

for sure how many Congressmen, Representatives, etc. they see on a regular basis let alone the visitors that need to be "entertained" for votes.  Lobbyists know this is not going to happen.
