Checking references is not common

I have two providers I consistently use as references, H**** and R****. I seen them both several times and they have both told me I could use them as references.

Lately I have filled out online forms to see five different touring providers when they tour Nashville, C****, L*****, S****, J**** and E****. Each asked for the information on two references. I provided H**** and R*****’s information. I notified H***** and R***** that these providers would be contacting them for references, they both said OK.

Within a couple of days I received email confirmations that I was good to go for each of them. YAY!!!

I texted my references H***** and R***** and thanked them for their positive references for me.

Both of them responded, “No one has contacted me on your behalf. If they had, I would have given them positive feedback, but I haven’t heard from anyone.”

This is weird but I’m glad I’m still being approved. Are these providers just checking to make sure I’m not on a black list and that I have legitimate providers listed as my references and then going ahead and approving me?

You supplied the providers with the required reference information. It's up to them to use said information or not. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I only see p411 providers. 99% of the time they never look at my profile before they accept my appointment request. And many times, they never look at it at all.

I had a similar situation with an agency. I sent in my 2 references but the approval came so fast that I highly doubt that they got a response in that time frame.

Provider or booker would verify you, a monger, by your writing style on the appointment request without checking references. It’s not uncommon as I used to get a few requests confirmed from non-newbies without reaching out to my references.

that, while a girl SHOULD check references, she is probably assuming his were valid -- which is the most likely thing -- and she didn't want to waste her time contacting them.

An experienced provider can sum you up just by the tone of your first text/email/call. No need to check references. When I interviewed for a job at a megacorp and got an offer I found out they never checked my references either.

Why would I trust a vouch from someone I have never met? I’m putting my safety in someone’s hands that does not know me personally it sounds ridiculous. I worked for an agency in College & it was the only time anyone else screened my calls. The only time I was ever in jeopardy is when I put my safety in another individuals hands. Never again.
