My real cell is an Iphone.  For years my hobby phone was a cheap android with annual tracfone service for $99.  Needed a new phone and went to best buy.  They had a tracfone reconditioned Iphone 6 for $139, annual service $99.  Works much better for me.

Don’t even bother buying a separate burner phone. I have a separate burner number that I use for both hobbling as well as SD. There is an app called burner.(As well as about 10-15 other apps that all do the same thing).  You can pick whatever city you want and get a separate number for basically $5/month unlimited calls and texts. The only thing you can’t do is send or receive videos (pics are fine). Something happens where you you need to switch numbers, you literally click the flame and pick a new number. You can even have the calls forwarded to your regular phone and it will preface the call that it’s coming from your burner.

I used to juggle multiple phones, but it became a hassle. Apps are robust nowadays, you can have multiple messenger app copies and contact copies. Use VPN, dedicated apps for your monger needs and pray you never confuse the whoring apps with personal/work apps. Lol. Works for me.

Then, of course, I don't have a zealous SO who'd check my phone. On other hand, it's tough to explain a burner phone to your SO. A hidden app probably won't be found by her unless she's somewhat tech savvy.

Explaining a burner phone to a SO is easy, and a reason to keep all your old tech. Just throw it all in a box as "junk" that you don't want to throw away, even with your old Motorola StarTac. If its out just ask to have it thrown in your junk drawer. If asked to turn it on, give it a 'try' and put in some fake passwords. If she says throw it away, then throw it away. You still have the number and Tracfone will transfer that number to your new phone.

Better to have two phones in case your 'real' phone is hacked with spyware by your SO.

I agree with you.  I have been using a TracPhone for several years.  It is an old flip phone, costs $20,  and a bother to text on.  However it is totally secure.  Bought at Target for cash.  Extending annual service for $99, for all cash.  So there is nothing linking it back to me in any way.  No credit card or registration.    Totally secure and worth it.

Now if there was a way to upgrade to a smart phone, and keep the same number, I would do it to make it easier to text.  However, I can not find anyway to do this switch, without revealing my personal data.  So I am going to stick with old school.

I would not trust Apps or any other technology.

You can buy a smartphone (with cash) and transfer the phone number over to it. If you have issues transferring TracFone support is quite helpful if you need tech support.

But what if your so catches you with the burner phone in your pants/car/whatever?

I dunno about girls planting malware in phones, I'd think they'd have to be tech savvy for that, but maybe times have changed and every girl is a hacker extraordinaire lol

Then again, I'm single and don't have that issue so can't comment on that much currrntly. When I was in  relationships tho, no girl ever planted anything on my phone.

I'd tell her "I am on my way out to go fuck a hooker RIGHT NOW, and I expect you and your shit to be gone by the time I get back!!! lol

How guys (and girls) put up with snooping SO's is beyond me. I don't cheat when I am in a "committed relationship" but if I caught an SO snooping through my shit or "bugging" my electronics I would immediately kick her to the curb.

I don't know if I put it in those words, but agreed.

With that said, I don't see hookers when I'm in a relationship. So, it's easier for me. My conscience and my phone are clear when Im in a relationship. Except for the archived history of my burner app. Hehehe

So it's even easier for me, I don't have to lie about either my past or my present when I get involved.

Agreed, well sort of. If she is putting tracking apps on my phone the marriage needs serious help. I would have a serious talk and see if there is anything to save. But like you I have never cheated. I play on an somewhat open relationship. My wife knows who I am bedding. So I don't even know what she would hope to learn. I just know I be pissed.
