In fact, people are just dying to get in them.

Ha ha

joke

This Friday in Colorado I am attending my first meet & greet event. What to wear?  I am at a lost...

Heels, cocktail dress. A sophisticated, sexy look.
Have fun! Glad there's still some M&G action in our world but I hope everyone's been vaccinated.
Otherwise you'll be at an M&G super-spreader party.

Gonorrhea , the clap, just the biggies. MAybe a little HPV and trich on the DL. Lol.

Yes I’ve got my Covid shots so bring on the M&GS!

Ok, for reference, I used to host the Los Angeles M and G's.  Which are probably larger than this one u are attending.

Anyway, why in the world would anybody attend this event at this time?  Especially the ladies. It is not safe yet to have one of these events.  Maybe in a year.  But not now.

Think with the big head, not the small one.

You think guys who will meet each other on a date would refrain from going to a M&G? Not sure what city you’re in, but in many cities across the country the bars and restaurants are open, people are getting vaccinations, and experts are predicting herd immunity next month. That means there are likely areas already very close.  It’s about time things started getting back to normal.

has been one of the most oppressive states as far as lockdowns.  Many SoCal hobbyists have been a bit shell-shocked by the constant stream of propaganda from our government that we are all going to turn to dust if we go outside our home and get within six feet of anyone.  I say Kudo's if someone can get good participation, but Bond is right.  A M&G in LA would not sell right now due to the restrictions we have been living under.

No, not THAT kind of Greek. The kind where "kudos" is spelled like this and has no apostrophe.
Conan knows all....

First of all, I am not oppressed.  I support the lockdowns.  My daughter is a charge nurse at a major hospital.  And until recently, all she was seeing every day was death.  It really brings u down and brings everything into focus. I have lost a neighbor, 2 cousins, an uncle, and an aunt to this terrible virus.  I am sorry that folks feel oppressed.  U don't even know the meaning.  Go live in North Korea.  Thats oppression.

The Covid transmission rate is 1.4 percent from outdoor dining and its 70% in living rooms when you're locked down.  That's why when one member of a family gets it, it spreads so fast.  Everyone was locked down breathing the same air.
Probably just a minor point that should be considered.  Another minor point is 90% of the deaths were people with pre-existing conditions.  My dad is 93, contracted Covid at the retirement home where he lives, spent a week in the hospital and another two weeks in quarantine.  Now he's back at the retirement home playing volleyball with the other oldsters that have kept themselves active and in good shape.  There are two factors at work, your physical condition (whether you have pre-existing conditions), and genetics.  If you got fucked in the gene pool, then every so often mother nature finds a way to cull the weak genes from the herd.  This is one of those times.  I know I'm not sounding politically correct, but its the reality of the situation, and you can't hide from it.  Sorry for your losses.

Well, u just made my point.  U just said the transmission rate is 70% indoors.  I would say that 90% of the M and G's are indoors.  Do u really want take a chance on catching to attend a cocktail party?  If u want to hold an M and G outdoors, that is probably doable.  But indoors, no freaking way.

It was outdoors, but of course it wasn't in Colorado in March either. lol

It was actually a great time I bought several sacks of crawfish,  we put up a party tent, had a boil and a grand old time.

Maybe those kind of good times are still in store for us, I certainly hope so.

If the OP had stated that the M&G would be indoors, but she didn't.  Colorado just opened up for restricted indoor dining this past Monday, I believe, so its possible it would be indoors, but probably not if it was planned a few weeks ago before the announcement of the reopening.

In addition, I said the 70% rate is in living rooms, where families usually sit together breathing the same air WITHOUT wearing masks.  That's why the living room rate is so high.  Lockdowns, which you declared you are in favor of, exacerbate the spread of Covid among families.  Follow the science and the statistics, not the fear-mongering.   But nice try to equate the living room rate to restricted dining in restaurants.  There IS a statistic for indoor dining as well, and its still a fraction of the living room rate.

... and experts are predicting herd immunity next month.
Please name one.

Less than 20% of the US population (16.1% in Colorado) has been vaccinated at this time. So-called "herd immunity" cannot be achieved with such a low percentage. And we are not going to see significantly higher vaccination levels in the next 30 days.  Maybe in 6 months, if the current rates of vaccination continue...

"Since vaccine distribution began in the U.S. on Dec. 14, more than 76 million doses have been administered, reaching 15.3% of the total U.S. population, according to federal data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The U.S. is currently administering over 1.8 million shots a day."

I don’t want to derail a M&G thread with a debate over when we achieve herd immunity, but there’s a great discussion over at the Politics and Religion Board

The temperature rose to a balmy 50 degrees below zero.

Everything is relative my friend.

But the very idea of a "Great discussion over at the Politics and Religion Board" on any subject is truly laughable. ROFLMFAO!!!

There is no mention of this M&G on the Colorado Board, the M&G Board or the Colorado Ads Board.

Say you're going to dinner....Leave the Tommy Bahama printed shirts and sandals at home.
Hope this helps

LOL, I always dressed in Tommy Bahama type shirts.   Of course, I was the host so I could.

There's alot of guys here that went into their closet and said to themselves.."So what wrong with Tommy Bahama?"...And really, there's nothing wrong...yeah, sure.lol
