YES -- as someone with asthma, I have to make sure that I ask providers NOT to have candles lit (scented are even worse) as they can (and have) triggered an asthma attack. THAT will sure kill the mood.

My solution has been to bring along 8 electronic candles with me -- yep, little LED tea-light-looking "candles" that are programmed to give a realistic flicker. Ambience without me choking to death!

I love bringing along my little LED remote candles. Give the same ambience without the overwhelming scent and/or worrying about possibly setting the smoke detector off when I blow them out lol

I personally love candles...real or not.  And yes, you have to watch the scented ones.  Not for everyone.  I love perfume but cannot really enjoy the walk through that department of sales at a store because too much is just that--too much.
