I hear that almost every body has herpes simplex 1 and doctors say it is pointless getting tested for it since almost everyone has it.

you can get a medication that speeds up healing at your local pharmacy. supposedly there is only one FDA approved OTC medication for that, so it shouldn't be hard to miss.

rule out the other stds.

if you are worried about giving it to your wife, you need to get a culture test and maybe other tests too. specifically,  something that tests for ngu / trich, etc since some standard tests don't test for it.

see a real doctor, why ask a bunch of folks on a board who arent qualified to give you a good  assessment. best you will get is a rough guess...

it didn't give me peace of mind. I found out I did get herpes even though it was just the milder oral type.

Any other guys experience this?  Seems I'm getting multiple small zits around the lips which go away within a day or two but are still unsightly and annoying and make me a little nervous that the wife will start to wonder what's going on.  Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you found a way to prevent it?  Don't tell me to stop daty 'cuz I REALLY don't want to.  I don't think it's herpes either.  At least I hope it isn't.

Your last post raises a few issues.
1) You can read all you want about herpes, but only a doc can tell.  It presents in several different ways, so do not assume what you have are just "zits."  However, based on the pattern you describe, it doesn't sound like herpes.  That does not mean it is not an STD you could give to the SO.  See a doc.
2)  Shaving right before a date is a bad idea for exactly the reason you state.  I shave about 6 hours beforehand and am still smooth for a date but not rashy.
3)  5 O'clock shadow may be fine for you, but I doubt your date will like getting rug burns on her thighs.  If you like eating pussy that much, do both yourselves a favor and shave in advance.  Same thing goes for your package.

It isn't really considered an std as most people get it long before they have sex. over half have the disease before the age 12. IF you have it and you do, you will never know who gave it to you as anyone you ever kissed, shared a cup, spoon, fork, toothbrush, drinking fountain or any other thing like that could have gave  it to you. DATY is unlikely source as genital oral herpes is rare.

It's pretty common.  And relatively harmless.  But still -- treat it as an STD.  Don't spread it.  

And yes, I know that the incidence of STDs in higher-end sex workers is actually LOWER than in comparable non-working sexually-active people.  But it never hurts to visit your doctor.  If you are going to indulge in this hobby, you need to also plan on regular STD testing and abstain if you think you might have something contagious.  Depending on where you shop for sex, you might also think about certain vaccinations.  It annoys the hell out of me the number of customers who insist the girls get regular checkups, but then avoid it themselves.

Good guess but probably not.  What I have has occurred after at least 2 providers and goes away over the coming days.  I also don't get it on my thighs like the article states as being most common in adults.  My peri-oral ones are mostly gone 3 days later.  I think it's simple acne related to bacteria entering open pores near the lips.  Basically, I need to make sure I don't shave right before a date and wash my face more aggressively with soap after the date ends.  Thanks though.
