If not England, then which country is yours?  I enjoy English soccer for its attacking style.  Joe Cole scored one of the highlight goals in the last match and England has an excellent chance to beat Ecuador and advance to the quarterfinals.

I was very disappointed by the US showing.  Our effort against the Czechs was embarrassing, but I suppose the silver lining is that our expectations are now such that merely getting to the world stage is no longer good enough.  Let's hope in 4 more years we understand the emotional and mental investment it takes to succeed in the World Cup.

OK!!!  I live in England, and I like soccer!!!  I am dissappointed by the US team this year!!!

Still it is cool that an African nation has advanced  to th knock out stage!!!

In 99% of the world soccer is football!!!

The performance of the US baseball squad was even more dissappointing than our soccer performance!!!

We created the game.  We have the vast majority of the great players of the game.  Yes we have the World Series, but there is also the World Baseball Classic, the first international competition with all of the best available.  On paper, the US had the best team, and yet failed to reach the semi-finals???

In the last WC, the US did reach the quarter finals, not for the first, or the second, but the third time!!!  For most of the past 10 years, the US has been a regular member of the the FIFA (soccer world governing org) top 10, and has featured as high as forth!!!

You did not have too be a rocket scientist to see that this team played with little or no fire. Who gets the blame for this debacle?

Guess, what?  I live in England, I like soccer but my country isn't even at the World Cup so the USA is one of the countries I've been supporting. You should not be disappointed, USA has been OK.

Now USA has gone out, who will you support?

For me, the Netherlands because of strong family connections, Argentina because of love of football!!

Enjoy Soccer, USA is getting better and better all the time!

I'm not English, I'm Scottish.  Totally different and should never, ever be confused!

And there is no such thing as a Brit football team.  There is Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England.

Amen to that.
On a visit to Scotland (The Kingdom of Fife) few years ago, I made the mistake of telling some locals that I had just been to England and that I was fascinated by the differences.
I was told, in no uncertain terms, that "we are not English, we are Scots!"
I got the distinct impression that the Scots are not very fond of the English.

If the truth be told, I found the Scots a much more enjoyable, friendly, and hospitable people.
I will visit Scotland again, but probably not England.

Just my opinion...

Soccer (for anyone over the age of 14) is a girls sport here.

My sports year has distinct seasons:  College basketball (both mens & womens), Hockey, College baseball, Pro Baseball, & FOOTBALL (both College & Pro)!  Soccer? Ha ha ha.  Like you said, it's a girls sport!

Soccer is obviously not our sport!
It sucks, but at least the Miami Heat won!
