Has anyone heard or seen this?  This is an App that was talked about on the news the other day that allows people to not not GPS track your location, it can also send copies of your text messages and even allow the user to listen into live phone calls.  The news station did say that the app had "apparent" privacy issues and was being investigated.  

As someone who has had to deal with being "GPS'd" by the S.O. This kind of crap makes hobbling a pain in the butt, even having a hobby phone doesn't help since your regular cell phone can transmit your location and thus create an issue.   For those of you with IPhones, beware the findmyphone app, if you leave it active, your exact location is easily traced.

if you are going someplace that you don't want to be traced.  And I mean turn it off, not put it to sleep.  Otherwise, just leave your main phone at the house or office.  "Oops! I forgot it at the office."  I know I've accidentally left mine at the office before.

Whenever you don’t GPS’ed, you turn off GPS tracking. You can do this on the iPhone by going into settings , General and turn on DO NOT TRACK ME.  

You can also do this on application by application basis on an iPhone. This what I have don on my iPhone, I decide which app I want to enable Location Services or not.

but I sense the OP's problem is deeper than that. It appears that he has a suspicious  SO who actively tracks him, when he turns off his GPS tracking she will get nothing on his whereabouts and that alone will get him in hot water. I see his only solution being a matter of growing some balls and refusing to allow his SO to follow his every move.

Aside from that, your advice is sound.

Even shutting it off is a problem as that alone will make the SO jealous.

Maybe there are gals who, if they are comfortable enough with you, will come to visit you at the office and provide for you there after hours.  Of course you need a very private office with a door that locks.  You'll need to have a yoga pad or something similar to put on the floor.  It might also need some kind of cover story in case anyone sees the gal.  (A rep from some firm you do business with, for example.)  And, of course, you'll have to be pretty quiet as you go about your session.

If you can get away from work during the day to a hotel in a big city, you can always claim you met a client there, or there was some kind of meeting at the hotel.

It adds a whole new dimension to the problem of getting away.

You forgot to list keeping massage oil in your office, along with an excuse, or disguise for it.  Dump the vodka out of the skyy bottle and replace with massage oil.  Then hope no one wants a drink?

Honestly, how do you guys do it? What could possibly be worth staying with a woman that you not only have to cheat on, but one that stalks your every move? I really try not to be judgmental, I really do, but I really don't understand the motivation to stay with a woman who has to monitor your every movement.

I dreaded telling the kids, the whole family (It's a big, and close knit one.)

I didn't even think of the cost, which I greatly underestimated.

It turns out, the SO did the pushing, and it wasn't so bad as I feared, cost notwithstanding.

It was worth it.

On the iPhone, disable location services in Settings before you go anywhere.  Then "Find My iPhone" can't get an exact fix, just the last known location (which is at home or work if you turn it off there).  It disables it for all apps.  You can still even use the Maps app to get directions to a place, it just can't help you out as you drive since it doesn't know where you are.

There's a similar setting on Android but the problem is some apps could override that setting if they were written to ignore it

I dated an IT gal once who's favorite saying was "in the world of electronic telecommunications, every thing is possible with enough money and time, and sometimes you can buy time with money!"  

Think of this, with cameras being ubiquitous, you are tracked almost 24 / 7- and face recognition algorithyms make automated recognition a thing of reality.  Then we have the cell phone which can triangulate your position to within a foot or two.  

While our government tells us that no one has access to this vast sea of meta-data, there is great potential for financial gain for access to it - detective agencies, consumer profiling, job clearance investigations, etc.  The data collected will eventually (if not already) be sold for financial gain, and lets face it, once that happens, if someone REALLY REALLY wants to know where you were August 23rd 2013 at 1:30 AM, for a price, they can find out.

If I had an SO, and I were to go to a meeting with an escort, in today's world, I would,
1) build an airtight alibi for my periodic absences (out of town client, off site meeting etc.) where I would also have a reason for not being available for texting or phone calls.
2) I would obtain a hobby phone which would not be traceable to me, and woudl be billed to me at either a PO box, or work.
3) I would leave my non-hobby phone wherever while out on a "date," it would be set to have a message "this is john, I am unavialable to take your call right now as I am (in a meeting, in the lab, working on a contract, presentation, business proposal, study plan etc.) but when I am free I will give you a call.  Thanks for your understanding"
4) I would inform my SO of the pending meeting, lab activity, work on contract etc... and tell her to not call me then.
5) Leave my hobby phone (when not in use) someplace where it would be inaccesable to the SO.
6) when the hobby phone is NOT in use, turn it off, and remove the battery.

but way before that, I would ask myself - I've got a hot SO, she loves me, so why do I feel compelled to do this?

my sin was to watch porn. lots and lots of porn, never cheated on her with another woman, but fantasized about it constantly.  the divorce was like taking the thumbscrews off, and my head out of a vice.   The pain went away.  Wonder how many are in an identicle situation?

Check out the link below for a story on how the FBI had Verizon secretly and remotely reprogram the air card on a guy's phone so that the FBI could track him. The guy never knew it happened.

The story makes reference to "rogue sites", so it must be possible to get into someone's phone by less sophisticated means.

I don't have one but if I did and continued to hobby. Placing a tracking device on my person wouldn't stop me. I would see who I wanted and where I would hobby more and let them have all the ammo the wanted. I'm not letting someone move into my house. Been married and divorced, that won't happen again.  So unless the S.O. Wants to join in she has to choices, shut the fuck up or get the fuck out!
