real or scam?

I believe that websites such as ashley madison and adultfriend finder are total scams..too.. too many women begging to hook up for sex..if it were that easy..I wouldn't be paying...at least erotic review gives you providers and sex is just about guaranteed for $$$ ..my theory is these sites falsely advertise women that don't exist..do you agree?..or am I missing something?

I did actually manage to "hook-up" with someone supposedly for a night of "activities."  Let me tell you, I wish that the site was a total scam... that was a very interesting night.... NEVER EVER to be repeated.

I can tolerate a lot, the woman I was with told me a lot of things about herself before we met, that would make me think of her - a certain way.  I finally arrived at her place....   and was totally sure that things were not as they seemed.  So, I guess that these places do ahve women that exist on them.... but whoa... they are a bit spooky!

Another lady I met through that site... lets just say she really scared me so much that I withdrew my membership, took my pictures off, and tried to get my listing revoked...

but on the whole, what I like about them, they do verify that you are an adult.  so, from that aspect, no LE hassles.

My BF and I met on AFF too! 2 years ago!! It CAN BE good!!

I have read that AFF (in particular) apparently does have a lot of falsely advertized women.

However, the site also attracts a significant number of women who are exactly what they say they are (that would be fairly logical, wouldn't it?) I have met several women who are everything that they advertise themselves to be, and I have developed some lasting friendships.

The hard part, of course, is figuring out which ones are real.

once again on the National news... there was a story of an undercover agent posing as a teen on "myspace.com"  As a dad, there is not a thing that I would not do to prevent my kids from being suject to the predators "out there"

IMHO Myspace.com is a web site that should be shut down... there is no (NONE NADA) verification activity to be sure that the poster is a kid or a legit - non-child molestor.  In addition, LE is very much aware of the nature of this site... and as such runs sting ops on it routinely.  if you must post there, be very careful of what you say, how you qualify "friends" and what you request of people on the site... they may not be what you think they are.

Even if AFF and other sites that put you through the credit card check etc do have a few ringers... and bots... they are better than an LE guy or gal trying to make the national news - courtesy of your reputation.

And, I for one, am not interested in a site with teenagers on it....   just not my cup of tea cause I am a 'dult.

I see messages once in a while just like this.  People wondering how legit it is.  Here's the skinny.

A huge percentage of the ads are fake.  You can look through and recognize pics 1) that have been floating around the net forever 2) pics of pornstars 3) the same picture for different ads, with different details.

Some accounts are used as shells for spam, some are probably people trying to get free naked pictures sent to them.

The huge number of fake ads doesn't really hurt AFF, I guess.  If it was reduced to the legit members, it would have less than 1/2 the # of listings, in my opinion.

That said.  I have met people from there.  One developed into friendship, one into a casual deal that didn't work out, as we were too far apart, and one worked for a little while, but I kind of screwed it up.  The last one was a dream come true in my book, but I was cold-feetish for a moment, and botched it.

That said, I was subscribed for a year before the first bite even.  It's legit, but the ads are stacked against the single male.

I have hooked up a coupld of times on AFF but it's a time-consuming hassle and the women are usually a mess emotionally.  They say they're just looking for sex but, in my case, it just wasn't so.

I met my boyfriend on an adult dating site. I was seeking only sex and so was he so in some instances it does work.

...women on AFF immediately after our split.  He was just looking for casual sexual relationships.

According to him every woman ended up wanting a serious committed relationship and the majority of women were a bit unstable emotionally.
