Don't listen to the pussies who say shit happens. You should post her TER # on your regional board so your fellow hobbyists can be warned.
The phone silence says it all.

You are a White Knight and your answer and other posts have proved it.
So even if he got the email, he was still flaked out on. The dumb ass provider didn't give him the courtesy of a call knowing he would be in transit.

You know, there is nothing worse then a WK who doesn't even know who he is WK'ing for.

Phone call "hi, I am downstairs".  Only problem being that phone call was addressed to ANOTHER provider?

Dumbass goes on personal DNS list, not called out on every freaking board.

What do you think of a provider that cancels 13 minutes before an appointment via email? Now, I missed the email because I was en route to the appointment, and when I get to the location and call the number I only got voicemail and no call back.  It was only when I gave up and went back home did I discover the email.

I made the appointment 2 weeks in advance. I went through checks and agreed to move the time twice.  I also provided a referral. It was supposed to be a 2 girl GFE, and the reason why the provider canceled was because her friend got her period, which is the lamest excuse in the world.

Man, I am ticked off.

Get the info out,so it doesn't happen to one of us!(just in case we would happen to, schedule the same provider).

Or some type of phone that you can get emails. Shit happens and so does life. Not a wk, it's happened to most of us, especially the Aunt Flo visit reason.

I have an iphone and i get my emails on it but I would imagine I am in the minority of people that can check their email on the go.  He obviously was able to call her so she should have been able to call and cancel.  You dont cancel via email 13 minutes before an appt.  It might as well be a NC/NS.  There is a reason the provider opted not to do the right thing and call.  Correct me if I'm wrong ladies but if you need to cancel an appt. in 15 min for some legit reason are you going to call or email.

life can be a pain sometimes. but you should know that an unexpected visit from aunt flo is not a "lame excuse," it is a reality every woman faces at some time in her life. what IS lame, is the fact that she was unavailable by phone and chose to cancel on you via email. that is the fishy part and considering all you went through in order to make this date happen, you need to cut off any further contact with both of those providers and post what happened on your local board.

A provider getting her period is a very valid reason for her canceling. Notifying you by email is lame however.

Aunt flo does sometimes show up at the most unexpected and inopportune times, but I find it odd that she didn't offer you an appointment with just her before canceling the appointment altogether--especially since she could've guessed you were already en route.

And you let her know that if you do not here from her by x:xx, you will assume the date is off and not make the drive.

I have moved on.  I wrote a review of the provider to warn others, and the whole purpose of TER is to share our experiences, both the good and the bad.

I don't agree in his particular case.

It is true that sometimes mother nature shows up unexpectedly. But if this was the case, why wasn't he getting an answer when he called? Sure, she sent an email, but did she just switch her phone off after mailing him? I doubt it.

Furthermore, the original poster didn't say one way or another, but I'm guessing there was no offer to make it up with either additional time or a discount at a later date.

Yes, sometimes a cancellation really is last minute for one reason or another, but her story smells of BS.

I'm sure I speak for many providers, not just myself, when I say a call to confirm the visit is very much appreciated. On the flip side of things, as an outcall provider I won't make the drive if I don't hear from a client as we've agreed upon when setting up the date. Saves me the trouble of telling his wife I must have the wrong address or looking like an idiot waiting outside an empty hotel room or by myself at a restaurant. Haven't personally had all of these happen, as I'm fairly new, but I've been warned by a few more experienced ladies.

In those cases, I try to take it at face value.

I do; however, evaluate the follow-on behavior. I do not care if 80% of the people are married to their iTurds and Crackberries (I have mobile email access). An email to cancel an appointment 15 minutes before is not proper, IMO, unless she knows she wouldn't be available to answer her phone (hospital emergency with family, etc.), which is not the case here (by her explanation).

Technically, not an NCNS since she did email you. It is bad behavior, and unless she apologizes and offers to make it up, move on. You can choose, or not, to post her name, with the details of the situation. If you do so, keep it factual and dispassionate, and no name calling or assumptions.

Shit happens! If you have a beef with her, complain about it and name her on your regional board. Otherwise, it's about the 11th hundredth time this year we hear a provider flakes. Dude, they lie and lie again. It comes with the territory and if you never consider her again, you'd be doing yourself a favor. Too many great ones to worry about flakes.

I generally call a few hours before a meeting...  with a Fav, I might call when leaving home so she can figure my ETA.   IF the OP had done that, then she would have his hobby phone number & most easily call it & leave a message.  She could have offered to see him solo...  rather than full cancel.

I think this is unprofessional & I'd most likely move on.

FYI, I did call 5 minutes before the appointment and at least 8 other times and I only got voicemail.  No other offers were made by the provider to make up for the appointment let alone offer a discount.  In fact, no further communication has been made by the provider at all.
