Can anyone get me an invite to an exclusive torrent site? I know I'm not supposed to ask in a venue about it, but I am sad, and can't find good music to play for my clients.

PLEASE!?!?!

I have been around since the Pine/Gopher/.alt days and just never got around to joining a site.

PM for help!

Thanks!

I think she is referring to an old file transfer method called "bit-torrent".  It was the preferred method of file transfer in the days before the masses were transferring files and wanted point and click.

Since some may not understand, we should say that BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing method.  While some uses are legitimate, a request for an "invite to an exclusive torrent site" seems to be a reference to the many torrent sites with "free", illegally distributed music.

In my opinion, as a businesswoman, you should avoid even the appearance of illegality.  If you are making money from escorting, you can afford to go to iTunes and pay 99 cents per song or 9.99 per album.

Urge/Rhapsody, Limewire, Kazaa and several others.  Urge is a monthly membership site that cost $14.99 I believe and you can download as much as you want every month.  To burn a CD it cost $9.99 per album.  Limewire is a free file sharing site that includes, music, videos, DVDs, wmp files and pretty much everything in between.  Kazaa is very similar to LimeWire also, but both do not include complete albums like Urge.  As for a free torent site I don't know where you would find one of those but good luck and share if you do hehehehehe.
 Hope this helps.

Wow - Gopher!  That brings back some memories...  (I, too, was on the Internet before there were pictures!)

You might consider ThePirateBay.org.  They are the biggest torrent site out there with tons of stuff to choose from.  They are in Sweden where P2P trackers are fully legal.  (People still keep trying to sue them regardless and they have a really great collection of legal threats posted on their site.)

Whichever route you choose, check out T. Rex's "Electric Warrior" album.  Old school sexy glam!  I think you might dig it.
