How ha the current economy affected your hobbying?

I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN INTERESTING POLL ON THE HOME PAGE.

How has the current economy affected your hobbying?

16% Very little or not at all. I have made very few or no changes.
53% I've had to significantly cut back.
23% I've slowed down some, but not too much.
6% I am hobbying now more than ever!

The above is a pretty large sampling, which takes some of the myth out of the question often asked question as of late. I find it ironic that 53 + 23 making 76% of respondents either have "cut back significantly" or have "slowed down some".

In being honest I am not in the 16% top line to be sure. I guess though a lot of people are lying in discussion forums including hobbyists and providers across all sites. On the GD board alone I think the vast majority of ladies responding state their business is great and as good as ever, which flies in the face of these stats. Oh well, at least it is food for thought.

Most of the people how pay for TER don't participate in he forums or polls. As a result providers business is not down that much unless the provider had most of her clients in the middle to lower middle class level or below.

It also is not a selective poll for stats. You are dealing with a very niche illegal market. So polls will not matter at all on the relative scale. And sorry to say, upper class has been impacted just as much. As much as the ladies would not want to think that.

Recent polls have shown (Legit polls) that upper class spending has dropped 27% in the last year as they hold on to their money in these times. That also goes for frivilous spending on the poo tang.

There are lies, damn lies, statistics and finally mother of all lies, on line surveys :)

On serious note what i believe is happening is pure redistribution of wealth.

People HAVE changed their ways of spending money.  They now are more careful in their decision making.  As result, there is a certain kind  establishments that does not only survive but even prospers.  Those who (1) offer truly impeccable service and (2) cash-flow "healthy".


Same principles apply to "hobby".  Some gentlemen significantly cut down on enterntaiment, others have entered the arena.  Look at all the newbies!

Some ladies had to go out and get civvie jobs to supplement their escort business, others had quit their civvie jobs to accommodate demand of their companionship business.

I'm sure some are cutting back, but I just got back in this year. I've talk to some ladies and said they've had a lot of calls but very few takers, if there are at all.  I don't live in a big metropolis. One lady was pissed because a guy called and asked her to do it for $50.   In my area, there are some good discount offers from ladies. I also see that hotels are cutting back on price, so that's good for ladies with in-calls.  I believe everyone is careful with their spending.

Dear Khori:
Would you say that the geographic area that you live in would be extremely attributable to your success? Would you say that both the Atlanta area as well as the Tampa area have potential customers and so much more of them that would have the disposable income to see and be entertained by you? Would you also say that time and experience has been on your side since you have been an active provider between 2-5 years and you have established a regular client base that would patronize you at least once a month and some bi-weekly? Finally would you admit that the population density as well as the fact that you have been receiving some favorable reviews also would be the reason that you might be doing better than some of your other colleagues that might be in different geographical area that might be more blue collar and have less disposable income?  Thank you for your time and your thoughts on this subject.

Seriously, very few businesses are going to report bad news unprompted- especially given that a lot of guys in this industry as clients will react to perceived weakness like piranhas to fresh meat ("oh, I can do things to help your business... reviews...set you up with a website...", and so on).

Also, I do suspect that at the very highest end, there's not much of a squeeze at all. If your income goes from 200,000 a year to 100,000 a year, you may be in serious trouble. From 10,000,000 to 5,000,000, maybe not so much, as long as you aren't spending ALL your income.

I think that the survey is right on. My experience latley is that so many providers are running specials that things are very slow!
