This is one of the unpleasant parts of the "hobby."

This article and video talk about raids on Asian Massage Parlors around Atlanta, where a minority of the providers were allegedly there as slaves. One who tried to run away was recaptured, returned, "assaulted" (whatever that means), and despite having an STD, was forced to provide sex acts.

The other sad thing is how poorly spoken the Clayton County Sheriff is.

Do you think the police ever lie?  Nahhh.  Never believe anything you read in the paper about a local bust. LE and the media ruin people's lives with nothing more than allegations, even if they know for a fact that they can't get a conviction. Look up this case in six months, and I'll wager you'll see a few minor convictions for unrelated offenses.  Nothing more.  But the sheriff got hisself on TV.

They pick on prostitutes for a number of reasons, not the least of which is it is more pleasant to deal with attractive women than dangerous, violent drug addicts.  But the original impetus for stings is usually political.  It is rarely personal, since many LE and political mucky-mucks actually use the services themselves.

Although there are seedy facets to some AMPs or other service agencies, there are far fewer actual cases of human trafficking, child abuse, etc. than LE would have you believe. And most of the ancillary crime  commonly associated with prostitution (drug abuse, domestic violence, larceny, etc.)exists because prostitution is illegal in the jurisdiction.  In other words, once criminalize an activity, and withdraw our great nation's rights and remedies afforded by it's legal system, the entire world becomes - well, criminal. Look at what prohibition did to alcohol related crimes.  


And come on - slavery?  In this podunk suburb in Georgia?  PLEASE.  Maybe a few more shots of a bed overturned in the paper will make it true.  

One of the genuine problems of our sport is that sex slavery and trafficking exists in the US, is big time, and often impinges on something we enjoy and should carry no stigma.  Up to now, it is almost impossible to distinguish between foreigners who come here voluntarily, illegally or not, to earn their living, and women who are deceived and trafficked against their will.  LE seems inept in distinguishing between the two, and they are also obliged to enforce the laws.  I'd like to see voluntary professional sex between consenting adults legalized, and exploiters, traffickers, and sex slavers put in jail, but who will make the distinction?
