Who do you think will give you better service; The owner of a small business or their employee?

many agencies are rip off factories.  

If you see adult ads, notice how many gals say "Not an agency"?  There is a reason for this.  

Of course, TER takes care of all of that uncertainty, so why go anywhere else?

Some agencies are legit and some arent. Do your TER homework. The biggest thing I have noticed about agencies is the phone call to signal the end of the time; can be very annoying and anticlimactic so to speak. I have only used a few agencies and still prefer independents, however I wont use either without solid TER reviews.

I prefer indies because I receive more individualized attention with them.

when i joined TER (the only hobby community i've ever been part of) i quickly realized that it's standard dogma around here that agencies are bad/evil/ripoffs/etc

this is as equally invalid as saying that all indies are shining beacons of providerhood, which is clearly not the case

in truth, the majority of my hobbying over the last 15 years was carried out through agencies not indies ...  and while not all of it was gratifying (obviously cuz it was without TER) and i  had my share of ROBs/skanks/deadfish/etc, some of the best providers i've had came from agencies with whom i'd established good business relations and trust (which i grant is rare)

in pre-TER days it was a joy to have a friendly proprietress call you up and say "i've got a new girl who's just your type, satisfaction guaranteed" -- now granted if you call a random agency blind you most likely will be disappointed, especially if it's in Vegas i'm told!  LOL

Well as a new agency owner, my wife and just started one in the Seattle area, I can tell you this, one of the reasons we decided to open the agency was that we felt that we could provide a better level of service than the run of the mill shop. By us doing all of the legwork, advertising, tracking screening, etc... the business end of things so to speak, it leaves the entertainers free to do what they do best!   And it also gives the client a place to turn for assistance in the unlikely event they are not happy etc...

And no, this is not a plug for our new agency, not even a link to our site, just my humble opinion.

too often, I had to schedule way ahead of time, contact 4 or 5 times before I could see a well reviewed independent.  By the time when we met, my lust for her usually has been quite diminished.

On the other hand, a good reputatable agency usually have a number of choices available with only a few hours notice.  One or two phone calls will get the job done.

Besides, most of the ladies I am interested in are only in this hobby to supplement their income.  They are often busy with their regular lives - going to school, modeling and auditioning, that they don't really have time to do screening or return calls.

There are independents out there who had other interest too.  However, they only have time to do so by bundling schedules together days down the line or simply not answering the insatiable amount of calls.

For example, Seattle and Houston are two towns that I'm aware of that are known for having several good agencies.  San Diego, where I live, however, Agency is a synonym for rip-off (either significant upselling, or worse, cash and dash).

When I travel to Seattle, I am much more likely to call Elliott Bay Escorts than an independent.  They are TRULY a value added agency that protects their ladies AND their customers.  They specialize in hot college students working their way through school, who don't have the time to do the level of screening and website development of a top tier indy.  And they genuinely care about customer service.  If they send someone who is not a long term established girl, they actually will call you back after the lady leaves to ask if you had a good time and to give them constructive feedback.

That level of agency service is unheard-of in most places.
