Bed bugs are a huge problem around the world and even in fancy upscale hotels. Does anyone else than me worry about bringing home the little friends?

I was bitten by bedbugs when staying at Siriaco Huatta Cruz's home. He was a Quechua Indian and his hutlet was at Lake Titicaca. I paid exactly U$ 1 for that privilege. This was 25 years ago. Never seen a bedbug since, but yes, I always look. I also look for ghosts under the bed every night before I turn in. I think this is a bigger problem than bedbugs at, say Four Seasons, or Ritz-Carlton properties. I worry about evil housemaids hiding under the beds and biting my feet in those hotels. That's why I leave a daily tip, even though housekeeping is included. I also bring hand sanitizer with me to fancy upscale hotels, because you never know who's been touching knobs, handles, pushbuttons in elevators, etc. It's a HUGE problem.

and I use it before making any reservations.

I suggest that everyone do so.
