No, I didn't, and I'm sure there are folks here who know more than I do about "hostesses" in Japan -- but what I do know is that there are hostess bars where hostesses cater to businessmen -- mostly keeping them company, flirting with them, making sure they order lots of drinks. I understand these jobs pay pretty well -- it's all tips. The hostesses may develop "relationships" with some of the clients that may be lucrative. This "business" is quite different and distinct from the open prostitution that apparently flourishes in the streets in certain sectors of Japan. I believe there is a premium for American "hostesses." Hope this is helpful -- anyone w/ better, first-hand info?

The jist of it was that they get your passport and you cant leave until you complete a contract.They set low rates for you and it's a form of white slavery. Japaneese men are known to be the highest spenders for sex. It's a cultural ego thing. They are big into the sex tours in Asia.Try talking to the ladies in Honalulu about theese men. It's safer to see them there.
I know of some providers who made such trips. While they did make some decent money (it wasn't a whole lot), each person stated that it wasn't worth it. For the most part, they were treated poorly and they were very lonely in a land they didn't understand. Please do your homework before doing this (also, be aware of the highly profitable slave trade going on there: inotherwords, don't get caught up in this yourself).
