That means tried ecstacy? It's AMAZING!

It was designed years ago by a coupla psychologists to help couples out with their blocks in communication. It's actually a "fear" blocker... how that works I dunno. I just know it works. I think basically it connects you to feel the love that you are. Supposedly we're not operating on fully connected DNA (all 24 strands). We're just operating on 2 fully connected strands. The other disconnected strands are running on "junk helixes" which resonate to fear. When reconnected (and there's ceremonies to do this; I've gone through a 12 strand re-connect), DNA naturally resonates to love. That's what ecstacy is supposed to "copy." Anyone else have any experience or knowledge about this?  xox Faye Desiree

Not quite how it actually works but, then, trying to explain why you suddenly love the world is difficult to explain.  The link is to an informational site that is more than just the scientific information.

It was alot longer that a few ago, it was used in 1914 for head docs on depression/trauma shell shock stuff now known as PTSD. Found to be unsuitable, too much seretonin depleted. Many people didn't "come back".

It's a chemical.  It changes the chemistry in your brain in a way that inhibits certain emotions and feelings while enhancing others.

It was originally patented by Merck in 1913, and it's discovery had nothing to do with any of the psychologists who later used it for a variety of reasons.  The original attempts at using it involved shell-shocked victims of WWI.

All the stuff about strands of DNA is pure new-age baloney.  DNA is nothing but our own biological "blueprint."  It doesn't, resonate, connect or really have much at all to do with our emotional well being.  It's a map for the cells in our body to use when regenerating themselves, and for us to pass on to our offspring.

It makes some people feel good in some situations.

I at least provided a link most could understand and, if you think a little bit about my handle, you will understand where my experience comes from.  By the way, it is serotonin(5-ht) and that is very difficult to deplete; if you did, it would not be a "trip".  PTSD stands for "post traumatic stress syndrome".

Please stop trying to scare people with misinformation.

If you live in LA, or happen to listen to "Love Line" which is syndicated around the country, then you will often hear the resident Doctor (Drew Pinsky), a drug abuse specialist, talk about the dangers of ecstacy.  Like most things I'm sure taken once or twice it may not do any permanent damage, but the temptation to abuse it sounds risky to me.

I would think seriously about doing to often.  Besides, isn't the high from good sex enough to raise your spirits?

The only Ecstacy I know of is a drug that has become "An Epidemic" amongst suburban kids. There are now therapists specializing in treating these kids for deep depression and suicidal tendencies. I don't know, if you have to take a drug to feel good about yourself or feel sexy, ie: alchool, cocaine, marajuana, there may be something more serious going on. If I have mistaken about what you are talking about, I apologize.

Extasy is a drug and can be misused. The long term effects of Extasy use are not well known and could be dangerous.

Personally, I like my brain as it is, and don't want to screw with it.

I have listened to Dr Drew Pinsky also, and have heard him tell people that certain drugs are relatively harmless, but Extasy is one he is quite hesitant about. He believes that long term extasy users could end up with serious problems.

It wasn't too long ago that people thought cocaine was a harmless non addictive drug.

Whether Chrissie was trying to scare people or not, what she wrote probably would scare a lot of people who read it.  No offense meant, Chrissie.

When I first heard the "junk helixes" theory, Mr. G, I thought - these new agers will say ANYthing to sell a book or a seminar! Really... just toooo ridiculous for words. But the more I've expanded in my sexual journey (mainly through Tantra) and altered states of consciousness, the more I know that I don't know anything. What I've always considered to be concrete reality... hey! I just don't know anymore. I don't really know anything anymore. Seriously. I mean, what is reality? What is it truly? What is science? What is molecular biology? Once you've gotten down to quantum physics... I mean, what is it all anyway?
Did you see the movie "Vanilla Sky"? What was even happening? Was Cruise's character dreaming? creating his own good/bad reality, depending if he was in a state of fear or love? What was really going on? Are we all the same person or substance or thing at the most "boiled down" level? When I'm with a lover that I'm very connected to - hell, I can't tell if he (or she) is me, or my male counterpart, or god/dess, or just plain ole me in another body.

I think anything's possible. Just studying the micro/macrocosm a tiny little bit is enough to completely blow my mind! I mean, it's sorta what Einstein said: Either everything's a miracle, or nothing is.

So to think that we're not running on all our cyclinders, and that we're now programmed to resonate to fear... hey! just look at the "Vanilla Sky" we've created. Life is but a dream...  xoxo Faye

But right now, I just use it with my Maui daka lover, maybe 5-6 a year, if that.  It's sooo special.  Never hadda bum experience yet.  But I take it like its a sacrament, not just a substance.  I do it as a vision-love quest, bathe the experience in white light and away we goooo!  xoxo Faye

I agree, the long-term effects of E have not been proven.  Some say continual use of SRI's (Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) reduce the brain's ability to produce 5 HTP.  The best thing to do is conduct your own research, read as much as you can, and make your own decision.

I've posted here that going to a strip club while on E is awesome.  The whole atmosphere is perfect.  The women look better, the music sounds more vivid, and even the darkness of the club is comforting.

Faye, most guys on E can stay hard but have a hard time finishing.  I guess that's not a problem for your "Maui daka lover".

It's plenty fun man.  Basically, it's bad for your spinal column and it also creates a problem with regards to your dopemine levels in your brain.  If taken once a month or so, then it won't do any long-term or short-term damage, er, I think.  It's a psychological addiction like marijuana/hash and isn't physically addictive at all.  Thus, I don't view it as the same thing as heroin (Trainspotting is a great film though) or crack etc.  

Not being spiritual or even remotely interested in metaphysics (I'm an atheist, nihilist, and sometimes a sophist for fun) I don't buy anything about ecstasy that isn't based upon the physical.  It's a chemical agent that stimulates and that's all I see it as.  But boy it's sure fun though.  Me likes, me likes...

I roll 3-4x a year. I'm in my early 40s, and at least for me, found the experiences amazing. It is an incredible drug and was probably a lot more effective for me than psychotherapy. I am otherwise not into controlled substances whatsoever, except an occasional cocktail. I prefer the type mixed with crystal, the straight MDMA gets me a little blue. I roll mostly with friends when out on the town, it seems to enhance the experience.

Let me offer you this caveat about e or, for that matter, any methamphetamine. Use it too much and you'll find your neurotransmitters shortcircuited. Moreover, at least for me, my liver and kidney enzyme function goes off the chart after using it, so I know I'm paying a tab there as well. It's fun, but it's not exactly what I'd call harmless. Also, if you're a guy, forget about having sex for 2-3 days after rolling. You can't perform the first day, and the rest of the time, it just hurts too much to cum. But as a person who absolutely loves sex, rolling is more fun.

Note to Kym Regal: if you were hanging out in a Starbucks in Summerlin (NW Vegas) one morning last week, you're a lovely woman.

Are a researcher? I don't know you personally, but I would welcome your CV and some professional organizations you belong to. With so many physicians( TheGood Doctor) and other medical professionals on TER, I always am ready to be taught by experts in the field.

               

In principle, it would be a relatively simple matter to study the neurological actions of such street drugs, in rigorous clinical experiments. For example, you could look for acute and chronic actions on brain function, using PET scans or functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The fear with many of these drugs is that you may develop irreversible, chronic pathologies. As a bonus, there are quality control problems with what is available on the street. It's not like you can complain to the FDA if you get a bad batch.

As a pratical matter, no rigorous studies on these drugs will ever be conducted, largely because you can't get federal funding and no local Institutional Review Board would approve them (too political).
