arrests? the larger percentage of women who have cashed out of this biz do so with a clean record and another career, not involved with this biz.

Reality is so much less dramatic than your imagination is I'd guess.

Many seem to come back after you think they are long gone.  I have heard some interesting stories from a few.

Seriously, this is one of those "all providers must be the same hence their lives, choices, opportunities and experiences are the same".

In reality providers range anywhere from streetwalkers to high end courtesans, with great deal of variety in between.  Naturally some quit because they can't pull the income any more, others because main stream careers take over.

And no, not all of us have to lie to cover up the gap in employment history.  Not all of us have arrests in our history.

Those of us who hold part/full time day jobs and those who have other business ventures simply move on with occasional twinge of melancholy over the fun times

Majority of ladies participating in discussions on these boards would fall into what I call MDH (medium dollar hotties) and for most part they are college educated, computer literate women who do have other options / jobs / interests.

Those convicted of a crime can and 99% of the time WILL be denied employment. No one is opening up jobs for anyone in transition, unless it's scrubbing toilets or any other minimum wage shit-hack job that they can't convince an illegal Mexican to do.

Very few ex-felons become successful professionals, most will end up back in prison because there is no means available for them to make it on the outside, and the majority of the scarce few that do are enterpreneurs running their own business because - no one will hire them.

Just wondering if anyone knows any real stories out there about what providers have done after they've lost their earning power.  I would imagine that one frequent destination is some other aspect of Adult Entertainment.   Even in the best-case scenario, say a woman with real brains and talent who can get a normal civilian job, they've probably got to lie on their resume, and they may even have arrests that an employer can easily discover.

I know a few providers who say they are in school, and escort to pay for their education. You also have some I guess will ride this out as long as possible.

If they still look halfway decent at age 44 from when they were in their early 20's, a provider can change up her hair dues, and image and make 20 plus career. There are cities all over the US they visit for 20 years and be the new girl on the scene.

In no particular order:

- get good civvie jobs (or start businesses)
- Die
- hook up with a client
- go UTR (these are FUN)
- go totally fucking crazy
- retire with all the means they'll ever need (in terms of "cash-in-hand" AND 'other' earning power$

I've met ladies that fall in most of these categories, and miss most of them greatly.

Just to entertain the OP's stereotypes, don't forget the following options:
-write a memoir and promote it on Oprah
-become a madamme and use the "earning power" of the younger generation
-become advocates for or against the legalization of the biz
-and my favorite (though someone else touched on this), marry a client / Sugardaddy, have kids, become a soccer mom, then write the tell-all and go on Oprah... Oh, the opportunities are endless!

Invest their money in real estate / stocks/funds and attempt to live off dividends (not)
or finish a higher degree & get a civvy job... (more likely)
or find a rich sugar daddy...

'Retired' ladies become part of the general population, just like you and I.  Why on earth would you expect anything else?  

I have known ladies that have moved on to becoming nurses, realtors, teachers, software developers, and so on.  I know one lady who used escorting to put herself through law school and she is now an attorney.  Another acquaintence now works in the marketing group of a major corporation.  IOW, they do what everyone else does - find a profession and work at it.  

There are no limitations placed on a lady simply because she was once an escort.

since I AM one of the gals you speak of, I most likely know more women in this business than you do. Been in this business longer and have seen women come and go and most leave for a career choice.
the fact that most of the Ladies you see have arrest records...that speaks more to the level of the Ladies you see than the general population.

I'm sorry, but there's only a handful of states that charge you with a felony if you're ever caught... most states it's a misdemeanor w/a ticket... unless you're repeatedly caught doing the same thing. But others are right, jobs CANNOT deny you employment based on your criminal record, & they usually do not require you to list misdemeanors anyway.

And the providers most likely to get arrested are the ones that get caught in stings when they didn't ask for references. I'm not saying you aren't at risk no matter how careful you are, but don't assume that every quality provider gets arrested.

I was high paid executive my last job before I got laid off. I had an opportunity to take a new position as a project manager with great income potential, but turned it down to pursue this. It's not just the money. There a lot of other things about escorting to love. One is being your own boss. I do love that. I am pursuing some other self-employment opportunities (not related to the adult entertainment industry) so that I can be more selective about the dates I accept since I am now trying to do this full time with outcall only (pretty much).

There are huge differences between felony and misdeanor arrests and convictions (vs arrests and dismissals or acquittals).

some with an undergraduate degree use their earnings to finance a business venture or pursue a post graduate education. others find the "right guy" and take care of families.

i know of one or two retirement stories and they are, so far, quite happy. neither has anything going on with adult entertainment _except_ in one case as a consumer! LOL!

but then there are doctors and lawyers and dentists and corporate types who swing, too.

I know well many ladies who have left the business.  Very few fall into the categories you describe.  What do they do?  They continue to be real people doing real things with their lives.

Most have no criminal record.

Many of those I see do this part time and already have a full time job or are going to school.

Some do it because the just like sex, do not have time for a committment, and feel if guys are willing to pay them to have sex, why not.

What happens to them?  Ones I stay in comtact with post retirement:

--They finished school and started work in the career field they were studying; a surprising number in criminal justice kinds of fields, one for the FBI

--They got married and did not need the supplimental income

--They reached a high enough income level in their field they did not need the supplimental income.  One each:  banker, photographer, restaurant chef, music production, travel agent.

--Sadly three were killed.  One from pancreatic cancer.  One murdered by a client in a robbery.  One murdered by a slime who decreed himself her "boyfriend" even though she told him he wasn't--that set off his demented evil side and he beat her to death.

I agree.....I personally know three that are out of the business.  One is a TEACHER, that's right boys and girls she is teaching the youth of tomorrow at a TOP rated school, married and has a kid.  One is a designer....high end design..I'm sure she fucks some of her really rich male clients in Calabasas and Malibu.  And one works at a major bank as the operational manager.  All these women you could see doing your daily routine...they have fucked and sucked many of men and live to tell or maybe not tell but hold it inside....Do you think they tell thier new husbands..?  I'm sure they do...I would it's kind of kinky.

Why is it so difficult for so many guys to understand that so many gals here can and do very well for themselves, in and out of this biz?  My perception on why so many have a problem with it, is because it directly affects their own self-esteem, and certainly won't believe that a gal can do "better" than him.  And the definition of "better" can be expanded to money, social life, relationships and all the other areas that are constantly bantered about here.

So where do these gals go...perhaps you see them at the grocery store, the mall, in your office, and perhaps even as somebody's wife.
