Nice to see action but, since the industry can't be trusted to self-police, keeping fingers crossed for some enforceable regulatory provisions.

I know privacy is essentially dead and buried, but this was an eye-opener for me because of how easily and cheaply the data can be obtained. LEO has always had access to this data but it's sobering news for anyone who might find themselves as the target of a stalker or for anyone who has a suspicious spouse, boyfriend / girlfriend, malicious business partner, etc.

I hope that others are keeping a separate hobby phone that doesn't cross over into a personal life (spouse, GF, business partner, etc.)!  There do seem to be dangers on the hobby side, such as stalking, as you pointed out. It could also provide info life style: you tell her you're just a poor boy from the other side of the tracks so can't pay her new rates except she's tracked you to Ritzy Neighborhood many times and figures you live there with lots of money.
.
Does anyone know how effective this is with tracking google voice or other phone number spoofers?

Thanks for the heads up!
