B. For safety.

Whereas Option C is the most emotionally attractive, the practicality of things, particularly in large cities or areas with highly tansient tourist populations (Vegas, Orlando, etc) require some way to ensure the safety of the meeting.  Specifically, if the provider can show her 'Work Card' that has her picture and an otherwise anonymous ID Number, its a huge step toward ending the 'trick roll.'  Trick Rolling in Vegas has gotten so bad that they have two police detectives working cases full time.  Given the frequency of the occurance and near impossibility of 1. finding the woman or 2. successfully prosecuting her, there is no way in Hell anyone should use a totally anonymous provider.  Having some kind of tracable work permit could allow the clients to more freely shop (online or in person) for their ladies.

TER gives us an informal version of Plan B already.  While using a well reviewed lady nearly ensures that there will be no problem, at least if there was a problem, we have a means of redress (a bad review and/or rip-off alert).

As usual. It is only my .02.

The board is slow today so I thought I would put up a dumb poll for the heck of it. Yes I know legalizing prostitution has been discussed before, just curious what form most of us think it should happen in if it happens.

I know it is not likely to happen soon or even in my life time but, if prostitution was legalized what from would you want it to take?  Please explain why. Lets get some debate going.

A) A brothel system like Nevada.

B) Licensed independent sex workers.

C) Decriminalized but pandering is illegal.

D) Decriminalized and make pandering legal.

E) Some other system. Please explain.

F) Any of the above just legalize it.

G) Keep it illegal or make penalties even harsher.

My answer: "C"

"C" is my first choice as I don't think the government has any place in the bedroom of consenting adults. Though, I like B as it would make it safer for all as we would know the lady is getting tested, and they can work independent of a brothel owner. Any of the above but "A" and "G" is better then we have now. "G" is what we have in most states now and it doesn't protect anyone or stop anything. "A" basically makes a lady work for a pimp. I don't like pimps and that is what most brothel owners are.

but I could also go with B As always F will work as well.

I like the make it safe for Hobbyists by requiring licensed workers to get tested, but I'm not sure that would be the most popular choice for Providers who have daytime careers, or for which this is just a means to an end.  Plus, I'm sure the govt would place a premium tax on licensing, and probably figure out a hobby tax as well...

Definitely, C.

I don't see the reason to legalize prostitution when sex is so plentiful with non-prostitutes like escorts and massage therapists.  I prefer to see a woman for her advertised services and hope it turns into romantic activity between two consenting individuals.

However, having said that, I am in favor of decriminalizing public nudity.  Whatever happened to streaking?  Now there was an interesting past time.

Massage therapists and escorts who have sex are busted under anti-prostitution laws all the time. If you are paying them and they are preforming a sexual service they and you are participating in an act of prostitution no mar what title you give it.

Just because you have sex with someone does not make them a prostitute.  And just because someone gets arrested for anything, does not mean they are guilty or ever convicted.

How many convictions of "participating in prostitution" have you been convicted for?  I have not been convicted of any.  But then again, I haven't been guilty of any.

Exchanging sex for money is considered an act of prostitution in the eyes of the law.  It doesn't matter if the act is being performed by a hooker, a an escort a masseuse or a 3rd grade school teacher.  It's still prostitution. Regardless of what they call themselves, the women who do this for a living are not kidding themselves about what it is they are doing.  You shouldn't be either...

Obviously you haven't read the websites of providers.  They make it pretty clear they are not trading sex for money.

Dude, get real.  Ask any provider who has ever been busted how much good that legal disclaimer on her website did her in court.

It's easy to play mental head games to try and convince yourself that you are doing nothing illegal.  That is simply not the case.  I hope you never find out the hard way.  If you are lucky your little fantasy will never be interrupted.

Fortunately, the women that you are paying are a lot smarter than you are.

So now the ladies are not only being labeled prostitutes by you, but liars too because I'm suppose to ignore what they say on their website as untrue head games (because you say so)?

Like I said before, everybody gets arrested sometime for something.  It doesn't mean they actually did anything illegal or will be convicted.  I don't know of a single instance where a anyone from this forum has been convicted of what you are implying.  Sure some streetwalker outside the context of this website might get thrown in the pokey every once in a while or a hooker that also sells drugs might go to prison.  But so far your fantasy of cops and robbers is better viewed on TV.

got convicted. One even lost custody of her child. There website/ad sold time but the second they touched the guys cock they where arrested. No drugs was involved, no ad for services, nothing like that. They just had sex while being paid. I also no a guy who responded to such an ad and when he disrobe and asked for a blow job me was arrested and later convicted of solicitation.

Sex + money = prostitution = crime in this country outside of a legal brothel in Nevada no matter how it is packaged. What the heck do you think most every lady with a brain screens, after all checking a guys job does not weed out the wackos but it can keep the cos away. Now it is true the odds of getting busted is small but if your paying and fucking your breaking the law.

and LE activities.

Check out the Legal Corner Board where you can find a good discussion of these issues. Everything Boston Guy said was 100% correct.

You guys are calling out the ladies here with labels like prostitute when you choose to ignore the things they write on their websites and ads. If you keep at it, someone really will get arrested. Self-fullfilling prophesy. An odd fantasy to be sure, but I'd keep that one to myself if I were you guys.

I'm not calling the ladies anything. You are the one who keeps applying labels. All I am doing is defining the activity that we are involved in with them and the way it is viewed in the eyes of the law.  The simple reality is that what you think it is doesn't really matter. There are a few basic facts that exist revolving around how the law views the practice of exchanging sex for money and, sorry, but being either completely naive or just thinking you are smarter than you actually are is not going to get you off the hook if you get busted someday.  I can see you now telling the judge that the lady claimed that it wasn't an offer for prostitution on her ad that you answered so you couldn't have been paying a for sex when you handed her an envelope full of cash and she sucked on your dick...

Fuck as many women as you want as much as you want. I don't care what you call them but, if you are paying them, then the two of you are involved in an act of prostitution.  They know it, it's time for you to get your head out of the sand and understand what you are involved in.

I'm not judging the ladies for what they do. Some of my best friends are sex workers, but I can tell you one thing.  They all know EXACTLY what it is they are involved in.  The semantics games and passive/aggressive double talk is your head trip, not mine and certainly not theirs.

That you head trip has to be more than UNDERSTOOD, but others have to go along with you for the ride. It just seems odd to be so passionate about getting arrested for prostitution. That's a pretty low priority for concern, especially since we are not dropping like flies. If its the last word you want, you can do that without writing a novelette.

The only passion I have is the willingness to express an opinion on a board that exists for that reason. Your right, we are not exactly dropping like flies but that's because the majority of us exercise caution in our decision making process and in the way we go about the hobby. Acting like no crime is being committed is the best way to get cocky and get busted that I can think of.

This site exists (at least the review section and the regional boards do) so that we can do research that minimizes the chance for an unfavorable outcome when booking an appointment with a provider.  Maybe you should read the newbie board for a bit and make note of how many guys post in an average week asking about how to avoid LE. After that read the legal board for more of the same including lots of outlandish schemes that guys come up with to try and outsmart LE.  Low priority for concern?  I don't think so...

By the way, no one is forcing you to read a single word of anything that I post.

You are right just because you have sex with someone does not make them a prostitute but it does if you pay them to be there. And just because you aren't convincted does not mean your innocent of the crime it just means no one has been able to prove it.

Paying someone to be "there" doesn't make them a prostitute.  You have to pay them to have sex.

And just because you are convicted on a crime does not mean you are guilty of actually doing the crime.  Innocent people are convicted all the time.

H) Mandatory. Like Selective Service. Two to three years of duty for young ladies starting at 18, with partial deferments for college or a few other reasons. Six months of boot camp followed by deployment to regional barracks. An important service to their country and countrymen.

Since it's purely hypothetical and none of the above is EVER going to happen, I'll go with H. But raise the the age to at least 21. 18yo girls are nothing but pretentious, apathetic and annoying.

then they start talking and all of their hotness dissipates into thin air.

Licensing would be ideal, because then you dont have to go through the trouble of wondering about a womans' cleanliness when you come to her door. I used to live in Vegas and I saw two cases of the state against a convicted multiple offending prostitute with AIDS, charging her with murder and/or attempted murder. They'd jailed her for the maximum allotted time for her previous charges of prostitution, and after her release she was extradited, but, of course, easily returned and so this was the route they chose to try and prevent her from further infecting the masses... all that could have just as easily been avoided if the government would have made it licensed. Plus, think of all the money they would MAKE if they would just allow it to be legal and TAX it.... Instead of wasting tax dollars on trying to bust these poor women and half the time coming up with nothing but a waste of time...

Brothels are nice, and I dont see how they wouldn't be allowed in the type-B scenario, unless there would be laws created to prevent ladies from assembly under the same roof! But I think I would rather be independent, unless it were a high-class old western themed one! Heh....

I agree with you though, the government has no place in bed with ANYone who wants to have sex with any other human adult. If they want to allow sluts, home-wreckers, weekend warrior party pantie-droppers and mistresses, there ought to be room in there for prostitutes, because at the end of the day, 90% of men who go with ladies of leisure leave nothing but money behind; their hearts stay with their families and/or work. In regard to the moral issue, which is what many people try and stand by, the guys who take the time and invest their emotional efforts along with their wallets into their secretaries, old high school girlfriends they find on facebook, or the lady two doors down do the most damage to their families. They betray their partners trust and love by pouring too much of their hearts into it and therefore put more stress and strain on the relationships. But to stop by on the way home and drop a few hundred bucks for something your wife wont do (or just wont do often enough) and make it home in time for dinner, who gets hurt in that? Not the old bag at home with the porkchops.... No sir....

More B though.  I can't remember off the the top of my head but there are several countries that do this.  Must work as an independent. No third party can profit off you.  I think that would work out well...

Or if a lady works for an agency, she gets more of the cut.

I am a tad anti-agency lately though, a few recent providers have had nothing but negative things to say.
