I'm not going to interject my numbers because a lot of the time, it's more of a neutral first reaction. (Not joy nor disgust)
But there are plenty, PLENTY of awesome and even, HOT men who hobby. Jeez!
If I have to rent a $350 hotel for a $400 appointment plus parking, gas, and supplies, I'm not getting paid enough, so I don't do it.
Also, if the guy is tossing me around like a rag doll, I'm exhausted and not on my game if I have someone the same day or the next day.
I think about these things when I think about how much I'm being paid...
- Level of wear and tear on my body. (Gas may cost $.15 per mile, but the maintenance, depreciation, and wear and tear of the car cost $.55 per mile. If I have to off-road, I need to equate clean up, getting my shocks adjusted, possibly fix a flat tire, or I can't use the car while it's in the shop.)
- Does it affect my productivity?
- Is it emotionally draining, or injuring my confidence, possibly causing me to not like my job, etc.
- Is the guy worth seeing at all based on how he makes me feel about myself?
- Will I have to open up the whole day and not see other clients due to exhaustion?
- Am I the right 'make & model' for the type of ride he wants to take me on?
It's like budgeting liability vs profit. Sure, he schedules two hours - but if I have to recoup for two days afterwards, how much would I make in those two days if I didn't have to recuperate? In all reality, I'm losing money, though he paid me $700 or so...
I consider myself a luxury car because of how I'm made. I'm definitely not a Range Rover... Probably more a Lexus. If someone takes me off roading, I'll probably decline the next time so I can skip the trip to the repair shop.

My numbers are going to be different...
When the door opens rarely have I had that "not getting paid enough" that only happens once we are at it and the guy is just bad then I realize why I get paid so much and that is try and ignore how bad it is. That would be about 50%.
Never have I ever thought I would do it for free 0%
A good decent client meaning he was clean, did not push for shit I won't do and didn't treat me like a blow up doll, well that would be the other 50%.
To clarify when I say bad I mean bad kissers, bad touchers not good at oral. slobber etc. NOT bad men as a person.
The best compliment I got when I was hobbying was an involuntary, unconscious reaction by a provider when I saw her a second time. Too much time had passed between visits for her to remember me by name. But when she opened the door to me and saw me she displayed a genuine smile of recognition. She certainly wouldn't have remembered what we did the first time but she associated my face with a good time. That was nice.
Actually, there was only one guy where I was like, "Oh, God, really?!?! Ugh!" But, he turned out to be really good at DATY and was a real generous lover. So, that kinda made up for the looks.
Everyone else has been normal looking or even handsome.
