Avoiding detection - a tip I've employed.

Best to take a shower prior to returning, but if that's not an option, here's something I've done & so far it's worked for me.

Get a haircut.

I say this for several reasons.
1.  I personally have ALWAYS showered as soon as I get home from getting a haircut (I hate those little microscopic itchy hairs that fall under your shirt).
2.  The various lotions & potions that you will get applied after a haircut (aftershave, hair gell, shaving cream, whatever), can mask other scents that might still be on you.
3.  Your in your own environment - gives you extra time n your own bathroom to do a 2nd or 3rd check to make sure everthing is Kosher (and to brush teeth ect).

Of course, it won't work if this isn't part of your normal routine - I'm no expert but the biggest thing to avoid detection is to not give any info away - stick to routine & don't raise suspition - YMMV - like I said, this is what has worked for me.

Unfortunately for me I don't get my hair cut every other week!

Unfortunately for me, I don't have any hair to cut!!

And I hobby almost every week. I'm not sure what exactly you need to hide. Most intelligent providers do not wear heavy perfume or a lot of lipstick. Breath mints and a change of clothes in my vehicle are my main precautions. I don't work a nine to five type job and my "routine" varies quite a lot from day to day.  This actually helps a lot when it comes to hobbying alibis...

On the way home from seeing a provider last week, I stopped to get a haircut.  Any girlie smells on me or spots on my shirt could easily be explained by blaming it on the woman who cut my hair.

People should be hitting the gym daily anyway - of course your encounter may have been exercise enough, but you can always stop by the gym (or "health club" for the spandex set) to shower on the way home.

Another thing you can do of course is shower before leaving the provider's incall, making sure you mirror your home toiletries - soap, shampoo, conditioner - so you preserve a constant scent.
