Speaking as a geezer I have to agree with just about everything that GJ says, but no way am I giving up my Old Spice!

I am proposing that no one respond to Hirogen from here on out. We all had some fun with him for a while but it's taking away from the fun and reasonably cordial discussions we have on this board. He's just some angry idiot teenager not worth our time. In my opinion anyway. He can still write idiotic comments on posts of course, but eventually he'll become like Jeff Goldblum in The Fly, a tiny buzz.

Hint: taking content from website A and hosting it on website B? That is theft of copyrighted material, unless it's YOUR content (it's a picture of you, or a picture you took, the content has been released into the public domain, etc.)

There's a reason why TER insists on hotlinking content instead of letting people host pictures here. They don't particularly want to participate in copyright infringement.

So if the content won't work when you hotlink it on TER (because the person doesn't want to pay for bandwidth charges from hotlinking, they want the content to only display in the manner they choose, or whatever- it's their right), the solution isn't to host it elsewhere. If they lock the door, you don't get to break in and take what you want.

I find it pretty comical that a TER moderator is basically suggesting "go boost some content from someone else if you want to display it on TER and they don't allow hotlinking". Wonder how that mod would handle it if people were violating TER rules by, oh, reposting TER review content, which is also copyrighted content.
