I don't want to end up in some TSA office trying to explain why I am traveling with $2,000 cash (Uh, you see lowly government worker "I like to fuck redheads and I my wife has black hair"). As far as I know customs is the only one that cares about you carrying cash and 2 grand is still a relatively small amount (last time I traveled out of the country you only had to declare amounts above 10K) - besides you don't sound like you're going international. There shouldn't even really be any reason they should find out or question how much money you have unless you're openly flaunting it or otherwise acting suspiciously - not like we're talking a suitcase full of bills here. Just don't carry around any money with the smell of drugs or explosives on it and you should be fine

Last thing I read, you only had to declare if you were carrying more than $10,000 or more in cash, and that was if you were coming back from a foreign country.

Back in my casino days, I used to routinely carry $50k on me without any problems. Only once did anyone even notice, and that was going through Las Vegas. I was selected for a random search and while rifling through my shaving kit looking for sharp objects they discovered fifty grand in rolled up hundreds. Not only did they not give me a hard time, they didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was carrying a large sum. I guess fifty grand isn't what it used to be. lol
Truth be told, I rarely walk around with less than two grand in my pocket, even at home. WTF, you never know when you might want to do a double, or an overnight. lol
I must have got onto some kind of TSA list, because the last three times I've flown, when I get home and unpack my checked bag, I keep finding the TSA piece of paper inside explaining how they went through my shit. Nothing to hide, but wonder if whoever goes through the bag notices the Trojan Magnums I didn't end up using after all. Here's what I'd do, wait until the last possible minute to check your bag, then go through security in a big hurry, and make lots of noise. Have the cash in a roll, a nice thick rubber band, when you fumble around to show the lowly TSA screener your id, try to flash the wad, even if just a little bit. Then, just kind of tuck it into one of your shoes and put it in the tub with the rest of your stuff. Don't drop it when you put your shoes back on, and don't act nervous. Good luck.

TSA agents have nothing to do with enforcing vice laws, they couldn't care less if you are going to see a prostitute. I would be willing to wager that if you admitted it, all you would be in for would be a big laugh.
FWIW I fly between 75 and 100 times a year, I can count on one hand the times that I have flown with less than two grand in my pocket. I usually carry about $5k for hobbying and other expenses while traveling. It's just not that big deal.

Plus you never know when the urge to see a provider may "cum up" and you never know when an hour session might turn into an overnight. Just like a good boy scout, I like to be prepared.

When traveling to areas that have casinos I will often forward cash to the casino bank to be taken out as needed. There is no charge for this and can often get you noticed more quickly by a casinos host resulting in better and more frequent comps. If you play your cards right you can get a kick ass room for free, have some fun gambling with way less money then the hotel may think, and have a nice secure place to hold your $$$$$ while out. (Don't do this if you really like to gamble). Doc
p.s. I usually let the casino hold about $20,000. Just enough to do a little gambling if I want and plenty of hobbying. I never spend anything near what I deposit in the casinos bank but they treat me a lot nicer and most of it's all back in my bank by the time I get home.
I agree with you completely. If you want to generate better comps, either sending cash or establishing a marker will get you right to the head of the line.
Unless you are buying in at rates of over $10 grand at a time or playing at least $500 a hand, you will have a hard time really getting noticed as a cash player.

The biggest amount I carried on a plane was $100,000, but it wasn't my money. It was for a political campaign I carried for my boss. I wore very casually (no new clothes), like I was going to Hawaii. Placed it in a knapsack.
As long as it's properly concealed, don't worry about it and pretend it's not affecting the way you carry yourself. You'll be fine.

Any provider or hobbyist that has their money frozen by Pay Pal will tell you why. They are very "hobby unfriendly". and there is no law against carrying currency, new or old bills, I have carried $50-100K on numerous occasions, actually on a weekly basis for a while without a single incident.
