Hello Ladies and Gentlemen (granted, mostly gentlemen),

First time poster here, from Pittsburgh, PA. I am fairly new at the hobby, and I am hoping I can take advantage some the collective wisdom!

My wife and I are looking to celebrate our first anniversary in Las Vegas, and we would love to party with one of our favorite pornstars. We are trying to book them through a reputable agency: AIA, Porncompanions, Pam Peaks, etc.  

I have two questions to you:

1. In your opinion, are their verification services trustworthy? I am not quite comfortable providing my personal information, but I understand that that they have to verify me somehow. What's your experience giving your info to these agencies? What personal info should I provide, and what should I not?

2. I emailed Porncompanions for some general inquiries and to ask for more information about their providers ("we are planning to visit Las Vegas in December... this is what we are looking for.... etc etc etc."), and I was quite put off by their replies. They were very short, poorly written, and even asked me for a photo "holding a piece of paper with today's date" and a "pick" (I assume that they meant pic) of my ID (granted, they did say I could cover the number and the address). This all felt sketchy to me, specially since it is to supposed to be a "premium" service. Frankly, it kind of feels like I am dealing with a pimp, instead of a reputable agency. What's your take on this? Am I reading too much into it?

I was going to go see Ashly when she was in my area last month, but her verification methods ran exactly along these lines. I didnt feel comfortable with them, so I took a pass.

1) You should only provide information that you feel comfortable with.  I once had a conversation with a fellow hobbyist.  He asked what kind of info a particular provider requested.  When I told him, he replied that he would never provide that type of info.  I was just fine sending it.  So, it's up to you.  If you feel that it's too invasive, then don't do it.

2)  Brief responses, I get, but poorly written??  That's a red flag.  If someone who is running a business can't spell, then that is a problem. Independent providers always give prospective clients a hard time for contacting them with messages like, "Hey.  what's good?"  If anything, agencies should be more professional than independents, not less.

You might try posting on the Porn Stars board here. A number of guys who see porn stars regularly and might not look at the GD board are on there. Also, a few of the agencies check out that board as well. I don't have personal experience, but from reading that board it appears that customer service isn't the forte of some of those agencies.

Escorts that will require less info if you are booked into an upscale strip hotel and do an outcall where she comes to you.  You don't need an agency.  If you have three or four days lead time, I recommend dealing directly with the provider.  I would post an ISO on the Las Vegas Regional board, and I'm confident  some of the more well-known providers there will contact you by PM.  Then you can look up their reviews and the links to their website photo gallery and pick one from there.  

 
The reason for screening is only so they can confirm you are NOT LE.  I have had many accept a photocopy of my drivers license with everything blacked out except my name and photo.  If its an out-of-state license, you have confirmed that you are NOT local LE, which is their biggest concern.  When you answer the door to your room, if you are not the person in the photo on the license, they will not come in.  Its not complicated.  

Screening is "mainly" to be sure you aren't LE, but it's also to make sure you aren't a sexual predator, a serial NCNS, on any Blacklists or DNS lists, or otherwise a problem client.

 
Not all providers are screening for these types of things, but many do.  

 
I 100% agree about not needing the services of an agency, especially one with "pimp type" management.

Yes, there are other reasons like you have stated.  Those don't come to mind for me because I have never known guys that fall into those categories, except for some of the assholes who have been BL'd.  They SHOULD be concerned about serial flake-outs and guys that intend to do harm.  My mistake in leaving them out.
